Race 4.

KENSINGTON KID followed up his penultimate run victory over six furlongs with a second place finish last time out over the same distance, just a head behind the winner and the form of that race has been franked. He drops to the five furlong sprint, but he is a speedy sort who finished second over this trip three runs back, so this should not be an issue. He will have to negotiate the widest draw of them all in gate nine, but he nevertheless is taken to be the value bet on the card. DR DEMON made good late progress to end up in fourth place last time out over five furlongs, 3.3L behind the winner. From his kinder draw four, he could emerge as the biggest danger to the top choice. WALLACE STREET has finished third in his last three runs, the last two over this trip and the latest when just over three and a half lengths back from the winner. He is drawn one inside the latter and should not be lightly dismissed in this line-up.

Race 5.

Today’s best bet, CAREERING AWAY has won two of this last three runs, the latest over twelve furlongs by nearly one and a half lengths. He went from gun to tape that day and drops in distance here, but this should not be a problem as he won over 1700M three runs back. He could prove difficult to peg back over the closing stages of the contest, despite facing a wide draw ten. NOTHING’S SACRED has also won two of his last three outings, the latest over a mile by one and a half lengths. He hit the front as the field entered the home straight that day and then fought off the all late challengers. On that effort, he should enjoy the extra ground on offer here. CHOCOLATIER was slightly disappointing in his last start finishing eighth over 1700M, four and a half lengths adrift of the victor, but he was hampered at the 400M and did finish strongly after that incident, so perhaps that effort is best ignored. His handy draw four will do him no harm.

Race 6.

WHAT THE FUSS has finished second in his last three outings over a variety of different distances, the latest over 1100M when 1.3L behind the winner. He is a known front runner and is likely to use his early gate speed to move across from the widest draw of them all in gate thirteen without expending too much energy. SALSA MAN showed marked improvement to win his last start over a mile by half a length. He successfully chased down the field that day coming from way off the pace. He will have to overcome a wide draw ten, but he is likely to be doing his best work late. WAR CAT was carried three wide and was then checked at the 250M mark before ending up in eleventh place last time out over 1500M, 5.8L off the winner. Under the circumstance, he did well to finish as close to the winner as he did, so from gate six, he should be included in all bets.

Race 7.

A 5yr old mare and a 4yr old filly could fight out the finish of this race and complete the exacta, but the marginal top pick goes to FRIVOLOSOPHY, who had her consistency rewarded with a head victory last time out over six furlongs. She has her peak run here after returning from a 33 week break and although drawn wideish in gate nine, she should be right up there when they hit the line. CECILIA jumped awkwardly when finishing eighth last time out over five furlongs, just over three lengths back from the winner. She was returning from an 18 week absence that day and from a cozy draw three, she should keep the top selection honest. KINSHIP is seldom far off the action and came wide into the straight, but stayed on well to finish fourth in his last outing over 1300M, just under a half length adrift of the winner. He has cracked pole position and could be the one to pick up the pieces should the girls fluff their lines.
