Race 4

This looks to be a tricky race with plenty of runners in with a realistic chance of finding the winner’s box, so some caution is suggested. The tentative top choice goes to ENDORPHINS who is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she has posted two solid last runs over five furlongs, the latest when finishing strongly to end up in third place, one and a half lengths behind the winner. She has a handy draw three and should be right up there when they hit the line.

LAPHROAIG showed marked improvement to finish fourth last time out over ten furlongs, just over a length back from the winner. He was slow away that day and bumped shortly after the start and then came four wide into the straight, so under the circumstances, that effort was encouraging. He is drawn wide in gate sixteen, but he likely to be dropped out of it in the early stages and then start to pick off the frontrunners over the closing stages of the contest.

MOREMI is another 4yr filly in the race and is drawn one outside the latter, but she like to race up with the leaders and should use her early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy.

Race 5

The day’s best bet, DARALINA BELLE is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she has only had the two runs to date, winning them both, the first over 1300M and then the latest over seven furlongs by just under half a length. She hit the front at the 100M mark that day and was eased down running through to the wire and could be almost anything. She jumps from a cozy draw three and the hat-trick is very much on the cards.

CHASING COMETS made good late progress when finishing fourth last time out over seven furlongs, just under a length adrift of the victor. He has cracked pole position and could emerge as the biggest danger to the top pick. DOLLAREURO was slow away and then held up shortly after the start before finishing fourth in his latest outing over six furlongs, 2.1L behind the winner. He gets gate five and will have his peak run after returning from a 24-week rest.

Race 6

SALUTE TO THE SUN is a 4yr old filly taking on boys, but she had her consistency rewarded with a two length victory last time out over 1100M when returning from a 16 week absence. She was slow away that day and found herself at the rear of the field before coming the widest into the home straight and then finding a good finishing bust to win going away. She starts from gate four and is taken to be the value bet on the day’s program.

STREET POWER followed up his penultimate run victory over 1100M with a seventh place finish next time out when dropping to five furlongs, 4.3L behind the winner, but he was reported to have made an abnormal respiratory noise that day and was immediately rested for 21 weeks. He returns here after having won his only barrier trial and from gate seven, he should be right up there in the firing line.

DANCING DOLLAR is a 5yr old mare who although recorded as finishing eighth in her lasts start over 1100M, was just three and a half lengths behind the winner and that was at a stronger center. In addition, she had to be held up from the 100M pole and should have finished closer to the winner as a result. She was also returning from a 29 week break that day and from gate two, she should not be easily overlooked here.

Race 7

JOEY’S CHANCE has consistent formlines to his name and stayed on well when finishing third in his latest outing over five furlongs, just a half length behind the winner when returning from a 21 week absence. He jumps from a handy gate four and seems

DOMINANT LADY is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she won her penultimate run over five furlongs and then ended up in seventh spot last time out over 1100M, six lengths off the winner when returning from a 21-week break. She has a wideish draw nine, but she likes to race up with the leaders and should use her early speed to shift across without consuming too much gas.

MY BENALLA has won two of her last three runs, the latest when putting four lengths between himself and the opposition over six furlongs. He returns from an 85 week spell, but he has had the benefit of two barrier trials, finishing second in first and winning the latest. He gets gate seven and the fact that his connections have brought him back into racing after such a lengthy absence would seem to suggest that they believe that he still has something more to offer them.
