Race 4

This looks like a tricky F&M Handicap to start off the day’s Jackpot and some caution is advised. JOLIETTE finished fifth last time out over seven furlongs, just over six lengths behind the winner, but she was bumped shortly after the start that day and then never got the clearest of runs in the home straight. That effort should be totally ignored and if she can reproduce her penultimate run when finishing third over 1500M, two lengths back from the victor, she would be a big runner in this line-up. JOIGNY didn’t appear to enjoy going the 1900M of her last outing when ending up in fifth place, 3.6L behind the winner. She drops in distance here and should do better as a result. LET’S REBELLE is seldom far off the action and jumped awkwardly when finishing second in her last start over seven furlongs, just under a length adrift of the winner. She has a handy draw three and will have 3kgs removed from her back courtesy of her claiming apprentice.

Race 5

A 5yr old and a 6yr old mare could fight out the finish to this race and complete the exacta. GUISE finished last in her latest run over a mile, four and a half lengths back from the winner, but she was bumped several times in the straight and a line should be drawn through that effort. She has drawn gate three and on her previous form, she looks to be the one that they all have to beat. MAJELLA was bumped at the 300M pole last time out before recovering well to stay on strongly and finish a two and a half-length seventh last time out over a mile. She is drawn one inside the top choice and could emerge as her biggest danger. CHOCOLATIER has shown steady improvement in his last three runs, the latest when third over 1500M, just under a length back from the winner. He was hampered in the closing stages of that contest and may well have won the race but for that incident. He should be included in all bets, despite facing a wideish draw seven.

Race 6

Today’s best bet, MOSSMAN GORGE has constant form lines to his name and finished a short-head second in his latest outing over 1100M. He had to be a switch at the 150M mark when finding a strong finish and can be considered an unlucky loser. He will have to negotiate gate eight, but with better luck in running today, he could be difficult to topple. PROUD MIA is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she completed hat hat-trick last time out when winning by a length over this five-furlong sprint. She hit the front as the field entered the home straight and then fought off all challengers over the latter stages. She jumps from draw two and looks the immediate threat to the top pick. INVINCIBLE KISS is a 6yr old mare who followed up her penultimate run victory over five furlongs with a sixth-place finish next time out over 1100M, just over a length back from the winner. She had to be checked at the 200M pole that day and should have finished closer to the victor than she did. She has gate five and should be involved in the finish.

Race 7

DALMATIA PRINCE steps up slightly in trip after finishing sixth in his last outing over 1300M, just over three and a half lengths adrift of the winner. He was hampered shortly after the start in that race and then, to add insult to injury, he had to be checked at the 200M pole just when he was starting to build up for a big finish. On that last effort, he seems likely to appreciate the extra ground on offer today and, from draw three, he is taken to be the value bet on the program. SNITZIFY had his consistency rewarded with a last start short-head victory over 1300M, this despite being bumped at the start. He gets gate seven and seems likely to turn in another honest performance today. ESCAPED tried to go from jump to wire before ending up in sixth spot last time out over six furlongs, three lengths behind the winner. He has cracked draw two and may prove difficult to reel in over the latter stages of the race.
