Magic Tips Prediction:
Another top quality field of three-year-olds have been assembled for this inaugural running of the $1 million CTS Stakes and a thrilling finish is anticipated. There are quite a few natural frontrunners who could easily harm each other’s chances and the likely strong gallop should ensure a fair result.
The Guineas formline behind Noah From Goa (subsequent 3rd in Queen’s Plate) could decide the final outcome and VICTORIOUS JAY gets the nod to cause the upset. The Vaughan Marshall inmate has improved smartly with each run and his Guineas effort proved that his run in the Selangor Cup was no fluke. The son of Jay Peg was finishing strongly when only a neck adrift of the brilliant filly SILVER MOUNTAIN in their last meeting and the faster pace over this shorter trip could suit him better. His wide draw is a slight concern but this long run-in suits him perfectly and he merits healthy respect.
SILVER MOUNTAIN was expected to win the Guineas but she still produced an excellent performance against male rivals and is best in at the weights today. She was brilliant when winning over this c & d in Spring and her good draw is a major plus.
The former Grade 1 winner SEVENTH PLAIN has his peak run & merits respect.
