Those formlines have worked out extremely well and the daughter of Lateral is improving with each outing. The 3rd placed finisher of her last start won subsequently which gives that form a boost and the Snaith inmate can go one better. She has a midfield draw on her track debut.

There are some fast sorts in this competitive contest and that will ensure a strong gallop. ICY TRAIL went off at long-odds when he made a fair debut behind a highly regarded sort over six furlongs at Kenilworth, earlier this season. His conditioner seldom pushes them hard first time out and there will be obvious improvement to come from the son of Go Deputy. Interestingly, he was gelded a mere 5 days after that performance and that formline has worked out extremely well. The well-related gelding is drawn well on his track debut.

PEARL OYSTER BAY has found some of her better form recently and she looks set to build on an improved last run. The daughter of Mullins Bay set the pace and stayed on for a good 3rd over 1300m on this track, that day. She may have escaped without punishment and has a definite say in a slightly weaker contest. The four-year old filly could again enjoy the run of the race and will benefit once more from a 4kgs apprentice allowance.

Race 7: JET AIR(4)
JET AIR is way above-average but he was expected to do more during the KZN winter and his conditioner resorted to gelding the son of Visionaire ten days after his fair last Grade 1 performance. The break and the operation could spark plenty of life into the bay and he does look set for a successful Cape summer. He does seem well handicapped on his seasonal debut and merits healthy respect. His track experience will stand him in good stead.

There are numerous speedsters in this competitive sprint handicap and an exciting finish is on the cards. EMERALD ROSE probably prefers an extra furlong to be at her best but the likely suicidal pace will play right into her plans. The Justin Snaith inmate has track experience and she was only outrun late into a creditable 3rd over six furlongs last time out. The runner-up of that outing boosted the form with a subsequent victory and the bay filly should be competitive from her fair draw.
