Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: OUR DESTINY(7)
Jockey: Cheyne G – Trainer: Kotzen G S

OUR DESTINY found longshot betting support when she produced a really smart six furlong debut at Kenilworth, six weeks ago. She showed lots of pace and despite being green, she stayed on nicely for 2nd, beaten just under two lengths at the line. The 3rd placed finisher gave that form a major boost with a subsequent easy victory over a good field and this daughter of Var will have plenty of improve- ment to come. She is well drawn on her track debut and is bred to relish this extra furlong.

Race 2: BORA BORA(2)
Jockey: Cormack S – Trainer: Snaith J S

BORA BORA made the expected improvement on his local and seasonal debut last time and he should continue to progress. He tired late over the mile that day and the runner-up boosted the form with a subsequent victory. This son of Black Minnaloushe has always given the indication that he could be above-average and the blinkers can make plenty of difference today. He is drawn well on his track debut and the slight drop in distance will suit him. However, it is interesting to note that stable jockey Fayd’Herbe has opted to ride the stable companion BENJI’S DYNASTY who makes his debut.

Race 5: READY TO ATTACK(3)
Jockey: Fayd’Herbe B – Trainer: Snaith J S

READY TO ATTACK may have found six furlongs too sharp for him on his seasonal debut but will love the rise to the mile today. The imported three-year old colt showed his class when he slammed LORD MARSHAL in a feature over 1500m in his third outing, whilst still a maiden. The Snaith inmate has huge room for improvement and could be one of the leading lights during the summer. He is well drawn on his track debut and is certainly one to follow.

Race 7: NORDIC WIND(4)
Jockey: Fayd’Herbe B – Trainer: Snaith J S

A top class field of novice entrants have assembled for this exciting clash and this formline could certainly be worth following during the season. With just nine runners going to post, the obvious concern is the pace or lack thereof and the frontrunner could make merry in an event that may be with- out any speed. The Justin Snaith inmate NORDIC WIND has shown top ability from day one and she may have found six furlongs too sharp for her on her seasonal debut, last time out. She had cracking form last term and was pipped after setting the pace in a feature over 1500m in her penultimate outing. The daughter of Windrush could adopt the very same tactics this afternoon and her smart turn of foot makes her a huge contender.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 3: PIRANGI(6)
Jockey: V/d Hoven H – Trainer: Robinson M J

There are some fair sorts with decent form in this ten furlong maiden contest and an exciting finish could be on the cards. The three-year old PIRANGI has improved as she has gone over ground and she ran on nicely for 4th in a competitive field over a mile on this track in her last start, three weeks ago. She was beaten just under two lengths at the line and the daughter of Ideal World is bred to love every bit of this extra distance. She will again benefit from a 4kgs apprentice claim.
