Race 1: BANDEROS(1)
Race 2: MIXED EMOTIONS(8)
Race 3: CHIEF PILOT(3)
Race 7: EMBLEM’S STAR(10)
Race 2: MIXED EMOTIONS(8)
Jockey: Craig DU PLOOY – Trainer: Justin SNAITH
MIXED EMOTIONS made huge improvement when she ran on strongly for a close 2nd over this c & d, second time out. She meets another competitive field but represents a red-hot yard and should continue to make good progress. The Snaith inmate jumps from a midfield draw and she could be the one to beat.
Race 4: MORE THAN GRAND(6)
Jockey: Donovan DILLON – Trainer: Justin SNAITH
MORE THAN GRAND is better than rated and the blinkers could really get the best out of this imported bay colt. He often needed to be hard ridden en route to shedding his maiden tag over seven furlongs at the fourth attempt but the headgear could solve that issue. The Snaith inmate would have needed his comeback run and should be fitter now. He should relish the extra furlong and the son of More Than Ready is a major contender on his track debut. The likely blistering speed will play right into his hands.
Race 6: SEVEN GRAND(5)
Jockey: Grant V/NIEKERK – Trainer: Mike BASS
SEVEN GRAND continues to be costly to follow but she should have finished much closer to GOLDANDSILVER over seven furlongs on this track, two weeks ago. The Mike Bass inmate didn’t get a run throughout the final furlong and a half but she still finished close-up, beaten just under three lengths by the latter. She is now 3kgs better off with that rival and has come down further in her merit rating. She will need to jump on terms to take advantage of her pole barrier position but could finally get it right.
Race 8: PLAYBOY BUDDY(9)
This is another competitive maiden contest and an exciting finish is anticipated. PLAYBOY BUDDY drifted alarmingly in the betting market on her debut over seven furlongs on this track recently but she caught the eye with a powerful late burst for 2nd. She was beaten a length and a half at the wire and it could pay to follow the progress of Valediction who runs in the third race on today’s card as that runner was just behind the top rating. The Kannemeyer inmate is bred to relish this extra furlong and she is a major contender.

Race 7: GEORGEOUS GABY(4)
Jockey: Grant BEHR – Trainer: Adam MARCUS
GEORGEOUS GABY got her act firmly together when she produced a strong finish to win a similar event over seven furlongs, four weeks ago. She picked up a four pound penalty but is suited to this level and often gives her all. She is favourably weighted against the three-year olds and could stake another serious claim.
