Race 1: LEADER OF THE PACK (4)

Race 2: SOHO SPIRIT (8)

Race 3: GREEN DRAGON (2)

Race 7: BLOOM (1)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: LEADER OF THE PACK (4)

Jockey: Y Ramzan – Trainer: G Smith

LEADER OF THE PACK ran a good race when finishing second over this C&D last time. She raced from a handy position that day and found another kick in the latter stages. The daughter of Captain Of All gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Yuzae Ramzan which should help her cause. She jumps from a handy barrier position and can go one better here.

TOP BET FOR TODAY

Race 2: ANCIENT TIMES (3)

Jockey: M van Rensburg – Trainer: G Smith

ANCIENT TIMES is the best bet on the card. His last three starts have been good. He was slow into stride last time, but raced from a handy position and stayed on well. The son of Querari does not meet the strongest field and should shed his maiden tag.

Race 3: GREEN DRAGON (2)

Jockey: X Ndlovu – Trainer: A Greef

GREEN DRAGON was not disgraced when finishing a short head second against males last time. She raced from a handy position that day and rallied strongly to the line. She is back against her own sex this afternoon and can get back to winning ways.

Race 7: BLOOM (1)

Jockey: Gould T – Trainer: A Greeff

BLOOM was a beaten favourite in her last start over this C&D. She raced from a handy position that day and rallied in the latter stages. She does face her toughest test to date, but clearly has ability and should be up to the task at hand. Teaque Gould does duty and he should get the best out of the daughter of Soft Falling Rain.

VALUE BET

Race 8: PRECIOUS STONE (5)

Jockey: K Steyn – Trainer: J V A Strydom

PRECIOUS STONE’S last two starts against stronger in Gauteng have been decent. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. The son of Seventh Rock makes his stable debut for the Jacques Strydom yard and takes a drop in class. If suited to the polytrack, he can get back to winning ways.
