IDEAL COUNTESS showed no signs of fatigue when she produced a smart comeback run after a lengthy absence. She has shown plenty of promise and will be much fitter this time around. She is ideally c & d suited and now faces her own sex. Her good draw is a huge help but the main worry is whether this run comes too soon for the daughter of Count Dubois. Having said that, she is overdue her first career win.
Race 5: CURRENT EVENT(3) – TOP BET

This conditions contest could be run at a decent pace and that will bring out the best in CURRENT EVENT who looks set to make amends for his last c & d defeat at a similar level. The Snaith inmate was returning from an 11 week break when he stayed on for 3rd that day but should be fitter now and is the one to beat.
Race 6: BRAVE VISION(1)
Jockey: Naude F – Trainer: Uren G W
BRAVE VISION has improved with each of his three local runs on this track and he was caught late over a mile in similar company, four weeks ago. The former Gauteng inmate has already proven his versatili- ty, having finished runner-up over the minimum distance in his penultimate outing. He is extremely well treated at the weights and has the early gate speed to overcome his wide barrier position. The son of Casey Tibbs could suit Naude’s style of riding.
Race 7: FUHGEDABOUDIT(4)
Jockey: Khumalo S – Trainer: Bremner Y
FUHGEDABOUDIT is seldom far off and she challenged strongly when outrun late at novice level over this c & d, seven days ago. The daughter of Right Approach is much better treated on these handicap terms and she has strong claims of going one better.

MYSTIC RUNNER is lightly raced and he showed decent improvement prior to his twelve week absence. He enjoyed his only start on this surface as the chestnut gelding ran on nicely for 4th over a mile last time out. His pedigree suggests that he will relish the rise in distance and the son of Horse Chestnut clearly has more room for improvement. He was gelded after that last performance and the engaging of Fortune suggests that his conditioner will have the three-year old fit and ready.
