Race 2: LADY SILVIA(1)
Jockey: Greg CHEYNE – Trainer: Alan GREEFF

LADY SILVIA is lightly raced and she produced her career best effort with a close third over this c & d, last time out. The daughter of Silvano may have still just needed that second run after a 14 week break and should be cherry-ripe today. She has obvious scope for more improvement and merits healthy respect in this line-up.

Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER – Trainer: Gavin SMITH

MONEY FOR LOVE has found good form in recent outings and he deserved his last victory over this c & d. He was impressive when he quickened smartly to easily beat his rivals in graduation company that day and has huge claims of following up, despite shouldering a big mass in this handicap.

Jockey: Richard FOURIE – Trainer: Justin SNAITH

CHANGINGOFTHEGUARD showed good improvement on his comeback run after a lengthy absence and will strip much fitter today. The former Matchem Stakes winner has already shown plenty of class in his career and of course, he won the Racing Association Stakes in his only start in PE, over this c & d. He is extremely well in at the weights in this contest and should go very close to winning. The slight worry is that he hasn’t won for quite some time but it must be noted that he had an enforced layoff for more than half that period.

Jockey: Keagan LATHAM – Trainer: Yvette BREMNER

WHITE FLIGHT has shown tons of promise since she relocated to South Africa and her conditioner may have worked out her best distance. The grey mare has a short but very effective burst of speed and she may have struck the front too soon over this c & d last time but still she held on to win comfortably. She meets a similar field and has lots more room for improvement. She deserves plenty of respect and can follow-up.

Race 3: BORN FOR BALLET(11) (Each Way)
Jockey: Juan-Paul v.d.MERWE – Trainer: Barry STEENKAMP

BORN FOR BALLET was expected to perform much better on the polytrack last Friday but the daughter of Badger’s Drift never got into the hunt and she finished downfield. Her previous form shows that she is much better than that and one need only take note of her performance over seven furlongs on this course, three runs back. She was drawn badly on her 2nd run after a break that day but she finished strongly for a close 4th and was beaten 1.50 lengths at the wire. She made steady headway over the mile on the polytrack in her penultimate performance and today’s trip on the turf will suit her perfe-ctly. Unfortunately, she is drawn widest of her rivals but she will be finishing strongly and can make amends for that last effort. She could represent some decent each/way value in this contest.
