Race 6: KING OF INDIANS(3)

Magic Tips Best Bets
TOP BET
Race 1: VICTOR REBELLIOUS(9)
Jockey: S’manga KHUMALO – Trainer: Yvette BREMNER

VICTOR REBELLIOUS relished the extra ground as he improved smartly to record his career best effort over this c & d in open company, two weeks ago. He clearly enjoyed adopting frontrunning tactics on that occasion and should continue to progress. The grey son of Rebel King now faces his own age group and he should take a power of beating from the best draw, with championship seeking jockey Khumalo in the saddle.

Race 2: PEPE LE PEW(7)
Jockey: S’manga KHUMALO – Trainer: Yvette BREMNER

PEPE LE PEW showed good pace before being outclassed in a feature over six furlongs recently but he now drops heavily in class. He produced a smart debut behind the top class unbeaten Oomph over the same c & d prior to that and has obvious ability. The form of his last run worked out well when the runner-up Bollemakiesie was victorious in open company at handicap level, seven days ago. This inmate from the Yvette Bremner stable should prefer this five furlongs and he will take a power of beating.

Race 7: MAN OF THE CLOTH(6)
Jockey: Luyolo MXOTHWA – Trainer: Grant PADDOCK

The three-year-old MAN OF THE CLOTH is an above-average staying type who could have a bright local future. He has raced just three times and produced a strong finish to shed his maiden tag over this c & d last time, despite having his second start inside four days. The Elusive Fort gelding rises in class on his handicap debut but is very lowly rated by the handicapper and still has plenty more to offer. He could represent excellent each/way value in this contest.

Race 9: LA REBEL(11)

Jockey: Luyolo MXOTHWA – Trainer: Yvette BREMNER

The three-year-old LA REBEL expectedly produced an improved last run when well-weighted at plate level on the polytrack, three weeks ago. She suffered a bump at the start but was making eye-catching late progress, albeit the minimum trip does seem too short for her nowadays. This step-up in distance will suit the daughter of Rebel King who has her peak outing. She was docked a healthy six pounds in her rating and could be extremely well handicapped despite taking on stronger opposition today. The Yvette Bremner inmate has a handy galloping mass of 53.5kgs and she represents decent each/way value.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 3: LULU’S LECTURE(6)
Jockey: Wesley MARWING – Trainer: Dorrie SHAM

LULU’S LECTURE has quite surprisingly been relocated to PE after just two moderate showings on the Highveld. He didn’t shape in either of those sprint contests but the form of his last start has worked out exceptionally well, with his conqueror Miracle Bureau winning subsequently, the runner-up Pistolero emerging victorious recently and the 3rd placed finisher Rock On shedding his maiden tag a fortnight ago. This well-bred son of Lecture has joined a quality local outfit and he could make serious improvement in this weaker centre.
