Race 2: MISS JAMIE(1)
Jockey: Richard FOURIE – Trainer: Justin SNAITH

MISS JAMIE is consistent but she has proven costly to follow. Nevertheless, she has done very well since arriving in PE and her last run proved that she stays beyond sprints. The daughter of Dynasty found herself far back turning for home down Arlington’s short straight over this trip last time, but she finished very well to be runner-up, beaten just over one length by African Lily. She had fellow struggling maiden DONT WORRY a length and a quarter further behind her on that occasion and should confirm that form. The Snaith inmate is again handily drawn and may prefer racing down this long run-in.

Race 3: SIRAAJ(4)
Jockey: Warren KENNEDY – Trainer: Mitchell WIESE

SIRAAJ has shown much improved form since going over ground and he will be fittest in this contest as he was carded to race on 27/12. He has done very well with frontrunning tactics and has kept his form in recent outings. He set the pace and stayed on for second over nine furlongs last time out and should be equally effective over the mile. He jumps from a handy draw.

GREYS INN CONTROL is fit and is in good touch. He won his local debut with consummate ease over seven furlongs three runs back and returned to Cape Town since. He was disappointing when perhaps feeling the effects of the layoff in his penultimate outing but then ran on steadily for third over ten furlongs, two weeks ago. He drops heavily in class here and is extremely well treated by the weights. The drop to the mile should prove little issue for the son of Greys Inn and he should take some beating.

Jockey: Raymond DANIELSON – Trainer: Tara LAING

STARS AND STRIPES is in good form and he flashed all of his speed to win his last start over the minimum trip, ten days ago. He received a pound penalty but he is equally effective over this extra furlong and won easily over this c & d, three runs back. He drops further in class and should go very well here.

Race 7: BISHOP’S CHOICE(10) (Each Way)
Jockey: Gareth WRIGHT – Trainer: Hekkie STRYDOM

BISHOP’S CHOICE has regained some of his better form in his last few starts and it must be noted that he was carded to race on 27/12. He could only make late progress from a wide draw at Arlington over this trip last time but finished a decent second behind the highly rated Greys Inn Control over seven furlongs at Fairview in graduation company in his penultimate outing. More importantly, the son of Mellifont went close to beating Kantaka over this c & d, three runs back. He had the consistent PURE HONEY much further behind him on that occasion and should still hold the latter’s measure, despite being 1kg worse off.
