Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: SILENT OBSERVER (10)
Jockey: Mxothwa L – Trainer: Kotzen S

SILENT OBSERVER showed plenty of speed in her last start and looked a winner, but was caught in the shadow of the post. She finished second in her only attempt over this C&D. The daughter of Capetown Noir gets the services of Luyolo Mxothwa once again and should make amends.

Race 2: AGRADEMARMALADE (1)
Jockey: Hewitson L – Trainer: Smith G

AGRADEMARMALADE set the pace in his last start and fought hard all the way to the line to notch up his first career victory. The son of Duke Of Marmalade will be at home over the extra furlong on offer. Lyle Hewitson retains the ride and the combination may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

Race 3: TJOKLIT (2)
Jockey: Fourie R – Trainer: Oosthuizen Z

TJOKLIT makes his debut for the Zietsman Oosthuizen camp. He is better than his last start suggests as he was reported to be coughing. He finished third in his three starts prior to that outing. The son of Querari meets the right field this afternoon and if settled into his new surroundings, he should take a power of beating.

Race 7: SOUND CHECK (4)
Jockey: Cheyne G – Trainer: Greeff A

SOUND CHECK was ultra-impressive when winning her last start over this C&D. The manner in which she drew away from the opposition was eye-catching. The daughter of Global View looks to have plenty of ability and should notch up her fourth career victory in a row.

Value Bet

Race 5: CRYSTAL STREAM (5)
Jockey: Murray C – Trainer: Nel J

CRYSTAL STREAM’S last two starts over 2200m on the polytrack have been good. The daughter of Just As Well has won once and finished third once from five starts over this distance. She is the best weighted runner in this contest and with Callan Murray in the saddle, she may be the one to beat.
