Winning Form Comments

This is a competitive Hollywoodbets Gold Challenge and caution is advised.

The narrow first selection is VARDY from the Adam Marcus stable. He raced with a awkward head carriage in the Drill Hall Stakes last time, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. He loves racing over the mile having won twice, finishing second twice and third once from as many attempts. The son of Var should strip much fitter this afternoon and he may be the one to side with in this race.

RAINBOW BRIDGE comes off a cracking race in the Sun Met at the beginning of February. He loves racing on this course having won once, finishing second twice and third once from as many starts. The classy son of Ideal World never runs a bad race and merits healthy respect.

CLOUDS UNFOLD caught the eye with a strong finish over the minimum trip at Kenilworth last time. She will enjoy the step up to the mile and should strip a much fitter horse. From her good draw of four, she could give the males a good run for their money.

Winning Form Comments

SUMMER PUDDING makes her way to KZN after winning the Triple Tiara in fine style. She took the lead at the 200m mark in the SA Oaks last time and drew off well in the closing stages. She has her first run on this course and if suited to the track, should keep her unbeaten record intact. Warren Kennedy steps back into the saddle today and she jumps from a good draw which is a big positive.

LADY OF STEEL is another horse putting her unbeaten record on the line. She has a beautiful turn of foot and the manner in which she won her last start against the males over 1450m at the Vaal was eye-catching. She tries the ten furlongs for the first time this afternoon and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should pose a big challenge to the top choice.

FOLLOW THE STAR should have finished closer in the KZN Fillies Guineas last time as she had to ease at a crucial stage in the race. She was running on well at the finish that day and will enjoy the rise to the ten furlongs. With a bit of luck in running, she should be right there in the run down to the wire.

Winning Form Comments

GOLDEN DUCAT ran a very good race when finishing 3rd in the KZN Guineas last time, which was over a distance short of his best. He stayed on well at the finish that day and will enjoy stepping up to the ten furlongs. Warren Kennedy retains the ride and he will know how to get the best out of the son of Philanthropist.
GOT THE GREENLIGHT looked a winner in the SA Derby last time, but the two horses on the inside fought back well. He gets the services of Bernard Fayd’Herbe once again who was aboard him when he won the SA Classic in his penultimate race. Should the top choice fluff his lines, the son of Gimmethegreenlight may be the one to pick up the pieces.
WILD COAST won the KZN Guineas at a nice price last time. The manner in which he finished off his race to get up where it matters most was encouraging. He should have no issues with the rise in distance today and he merits obvious inclusion.
