Feel The July Heat!

It’s Vodacom Durban July week and the time for all the talk and speculation will soon be over! Africa’s Greatest Horseracing event dominates all our horizons as we count the days down to Saturday 6 July at Hollywoodbets Greyville.

This has to be the week to beat all weeks in horse racing in South Africa with many big-race related events happening.

The Vodacom Durban July Pre–Party will be held at Hollywood Park on Thursday 04 July 18:00 till late.

Masters Of Ceremonies will be Warren Lenferna and Kevin Shea, and the four wise men on the esteemed panel are Winning Form’s July jockey Muzi Yeni, KZN champion trainer Duncan Howells, past July-winning trainer Glen Kotzen and July legend Garth Puller!

There will be Live Audio Streaming of the special July card call to our branches at Daxina in Gauteng, while customers in KZN can choose to visit any of these branches: Raisethorpe, Stanger, Chatsworth or Pelican.

The next generation of stars will also go through the ring at the KZN Yearling Sale which will be held at Sibaya on Thursday and Friday.

On Tuesday we are at the Vaal for nine action-packed races.
We like the look of Mike de Kock’s Mambo In Seattle filly DIORAMA in the fifth.

Having her third run, she takes on an ordinary-looking field in a 2000m maiden and showed fair ability at her first two starts over 1200m and a mile. She was staying on steadily at both and will love the extra 400m.

Small fields are the order of the day at Durbanville on Wednesday and a rare combination of SA champion jockey Lyle Hewitson and Milnerton trainer Joey Ramsden can get the consistent CAPKUTA into the winner’s box in the second race.

The speedy daughter of Captain Of All takes on six rivals after placing at five of her six starts and her experience of the country course could be in her favour.

Nine races on the Vaal Classic track round off the midweek programme and after a run of red-hot form, Sean Tarry and Lyle Hewitson could be the combination to follow.

They team up with the Silvano filly HAREER who runs in the fifth.

After shedding her maiden at her fifth jump when trying a mile, she was hampered next time when failing to challenge for a cheque. She was slow out at her last start when showing toe and then being beaten 2 lengths. She is fit and looks to have a decent future and should not be long in securing a second career victory.

A reminder that if you are in the vicinity of a Hollywoodbets outlet, we have various July events on the menu.

Our Vodacom Durban July betting market has also reached boiling point, with plenty of shrewd value still up for grabs.
