He is clearly at his best over this minimum distance and should be very competitive with Fortune in the irons. The four-year-old gelding is his stable’s only entrant on the card.

LEBEOANA completed an impressive local hat-trick over further recently and he looks set to have a bright future in this province. He has a bit to do at the weights based on official ratings but is still improving in this province and he is the stable elect. The five-year old gelding should be very competitive in this field but the main concern is whether he will find the mile too sharp for him. The Tienie Prinsloo inmate will prefer a strong gallop.

The speedy EMERALD MACKAY has surprisingly relocated to Kimberley despite a smart post maiden run on his handicap debut on the Vaal sand. He may have some issues but has faced much stronger and could have a bright local future. He obviously has an affinity for the sand and his pace will stand him in good stead on this track. The Right Approach gelding has cracked pole position and he shed his maiden tag over this distance in his penultimate outing.
