Race 4

The day’s best bet, MADAM CHARM is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she is looking to complete her hat-trick after wins over 1500M and the latest by half a length over a mile. She steps up in trip here, but she battled all the way down to the wire that day, suggesting that the extra ground on offer here will be well within her capabilities. She gets gate six and could show the males the way home.

ONEMORE SAPPHIRE is drawn one outside the top choice and had to be held up approaching the home turn before making good late progress to finish second last time out over nine furlongs, 2.8L behind the winner.

He renews his rivalry with COMMANDER BELL who was the winner of the race referred to above, but as he meets him on 5kgs better terms today, he should be able to reverse that result. The latter showed solid improvement to win that last start though and did come four wide into the home straight, before striding clear of the opposition at the 300M mark. He will jump from draw five and should be involved in the finish.

Race 5

CONTINUATION showed marked improvement to win his last outing over ten furlongs by one and a half lengths. He finished well that day and from the widest draw of them all today in gate nine, he is likely to be dropped out of it early and then start picking off the frontrunners over the closing stages.

INSIDER TRADER followed up his penultimate run victory over 2300M with a second-place finish next time out over the same distance, one length back from the winner. He was only run out of it late that day and the form of that contest has been franked. He gets a kinder draw three and should be right up there when they hit the line.

DO THIS ALL DAY has won two of his last three runs, the latest over 2100M by one length. He put his disappointing penultimate effort firmly behind him that day and if he is able to repeat that last effort, he should be a big runner in this line-up, jumping from gate seven.

Race 6

FINALLY REALISE has improved in his last two outings, winning the latest over 1100M by 2.3L. He kicked away from the field at the 200M pole that day and was never sighted from that point. He has his peak run here after returning from a 19-week break and from draw five, he may prove to be too good for this company.

SKYRAY has finished closer to the winner in his last three runs, the latest, which despite being recorded a finishing in eights spot, was just under two and a half lengths adrift of the winner. It should be noted that he was slowly away that day and then had to be eased off the heels of runners shortly after the start, before staying on well over the latter stages. He is drawn the widest of the lot in gate nine, but he should not be lightly dismissed in this field.

GO FOR GOLD missed out on his hat-trick when finishing seventh last time out over 1100M, 4.6L back from the victor. He was returning from an 18-week break that day and from a cosy gate three, he will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways today.

Race 7

JOY AND MIRTH jumped awkwardly and then encountered traffic problems in the home straight before ending up in sixth spot last time out over 1300M, 2.3L off the winner and was immediately rested for 30 weeks. She returns here after finishing fourth in her only barrier trial and the blinkers are removed for the first time. The form of that last contest has stood up very well with no less than seven runners out of that race subsequently winning. She jumps from gate seven and is taken to be the value bet on the day’s program.

MISS JAY FOX was hampered at the start before finishing fifth in her latest outing over six furlongs, three and a half lengths back from the winner, but she did win over this trip three runs back and from the gate three, she should keep the top pick honest.

EMBELLER raced up with the pace when showing solid improvement to end up in second place in her latest outing over 1100M, a half-length adrift of the victor. She is drawn one inside the latter and will have 2.5kgs taken off her back courtesy of her claiming apprentice to aid her cause.
