Race 1: INYATI(11)
Jockey: Keagan DE MELO – Trainer: Duncan HOWELLS
The filly INYATI tired late in her comeback run over six furlongs recently and this shorter trip could be ideal for the speedy daughter of Var. She is well drawn and has definite claims on her best form. She will strip fitter but the only slight reservation is that she gets equipped with blinkers.
Race 2: DANISH CROSS(1)
Jockey: Keagan DE MELO – Trainer: Duncan HOWELL
The Howells/De Melo combination could be at it again here and the top selection DANISH CROSS can make up for her below-par last showing. That said, it was her first taste of the polytrack in a competitive line-up, the formline of which was boosted by subsequent winners Burfi and Mungo Cherry. The daughter of Pathfork showed good ability on the grass prior to that and had a pleasing debut against winners before her smart penultimate run. Her experience around the turn will be vital and she should go close from her good draw.
Race 4: SILVER SAILS(4)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Colin SCOTT
SILVER SAILS built on his promising debut when he finished well to beat some fair maidens over six furlongs on the polytrack second time out. It was a win full of merit, considering he was having his first run around the turn so this well-related son of Silvano is clearly above-average and should continue to improve. He takes on a strong field on his handicap debut but is expected to relish the extra furlong and top jockey Delpech has been engaged.

Race 7: CELTIC CAPTAIN(5)
Jockey: Warren KENNEDY – Trainer: Gareth VAN ZYL
CELTIC CAPTAIN has the day’s topliner at his mercy and the likely strong gallop will suit him perfectly. Of course, he captured a listed event on the polytrack in his penultimate outing and then followed up with a smart performance over a mile in a Grade 3 on this course, eight weeks ago. The 3rd placed entrant Budapest boosted his latest formline with a subsequent win and this son of Captain Al is extremely well treated at the weights on official ratings. The bay gelding has no issues with the ten furlongs and he should take a power of beating.
