She was well beaten into 3rd in a decent field over six furlongs that day and is expected to enjoy this extra furlong. The daughter of Silvano has more improvement to come and she gets the nod with Muzi Yeni in the saddle.
Race 3: AFICIONADO(11)
Jockey: Delpech A – Trainer: De Kock M F
AFICIONADO struggled throughout his second start over seven furlongs on this track but in the end surprised many by finishing 4th despite not striding out. That effort was a clear indication that the Visionaire gelding is searching for further and his conditioner has obliged. The three-year old chestnut will love every bit of this ten furlongs and the equipping of blinkers could be a major factor. He clearly has scope for improvement and is the one to beat.
Race 7: SUPERCEDE(1)
Jockey: Sturgeon I – Trainer: Lunn P L
The Mamasita formline over this trip on the polytrack on 25/09 could dominate the outcome of this competitive event. SUPERCEDE ran on nicely for a close 3rd in that event and she now gets the services of a top jockey. The daughter of Stronghold is even better on the grass and she has the ability to emerge victorious despite conceding chunks of weight to her rivals.

ICE MACHINE had little go his way in a Gauteng feature last time and he tired late after moving up with plenty of menace. The top class seven-year old gelding had a brilliant penultimate run over nine furlongs on this track and he is versatile. He is by some margin best in on official ratings and his swift turn of foot will come into play over this distance. The Silvano gelding would have recovered during the four week absence after his Gauteng escapade and he could take some beating in this field.

TIPTOL was expected to do better in a strong conditions field last time but she drops heavily in class today. She had smart, ultra-consistent form prior to that and her last victory came over five furlongs on this track. The daughter of Silvano is drawn poorly but she usually finishes well and she can still defy the odds.
