Magic Tips Best Bets

TOP BET
Race 2: GLIMMER OF SILVER(5)

Jockey: Yeni M – Trainer: Howells D C

GLIMMER OF SILVER has improved with each outing and she ran on nicely for a close 3rd in a decent field over five furlongs on this surface, three weeks ago. She proved herself equally effective over this extra furlong with a smart penultimate effort and should go close from a good draw today.

Race 5: EXIT HERE(7)
Jockey: Marcus A – Trainer: Laird C S

EXIT HERE is a smart three-year old with cracking form and he cruised clear of his novice rivals en route to an easy c & d win on his seasonal debut, seven weeks ago. The Jay Peg gelding is now unbeaten from two runs with blinkers and he has plenty of room for improvement. He will be severely tested in this tough handicap but could prove equal to the task and his good draw is a major plus.

Race 7: HO’OPONOPONO(2)
Jockey: Marcus A – Trainer: Bosch D S

HO’OPONOPONO produced a strong late run when he failed by a head over the minimum trip at this level, on this track, three weeks ago. He is equally effective over this extra furlong and has huge claims of going one better on his peak run today. The Horse Chestnut entire’ is his stable’s only representative on this card and he should take a power of beating. Anton Marcus takes the ride on the chestnut for the first time.

Race 8: STRUMMER(3)

Jockey: Sturgeon I – Trainer: Campbell D

STRUMMER was super-impressive as he led throughout to easily win his debut over this c & d recently and he should have plenty more to come. The well-related Var colt is again drawn well and despite rising in grade, he doesn’t take on the strongest bunch and can follow-up, despite his big mass.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 6: BERMUDA(7)
Jockey: Godden T – Trainer: Forbes L

BERMUDA is seldom beaten far despite his tendency to jump slowly out of the gates. Nevertheless, he was given a kind reprieve by the handicapper who docked three pounds in his rating after his fair last effort and his conditioner has engaged a 2.5kgs apprentice claim. The six-year old gelding finished 4th over this c & d in his penultimate start and could finish much closer with a low mass today.
