The lack of pace is a major factor in this competitive handicap where the raider from the ‘Mother City’, CAPE FLING has a chance to underline his true potential. The four-year-old bay gelding had a disappointing last defeat in his home province but proved his worth in two prior victories. Of course, he quickened smartly to an effortless debut victory over seven furlongs on this course earlier this campaign. The imported gelding is unbeaten with Delpech up and is his yard’s only entrant on the day.

MIDANSWER was given a short break after a dismal last grass showing and she could be a major threat at this level. The bay mare finished strongly for a close 3rd behind subsequent winner and male rival, Structured Reply over this c & d in her penultimate outing. She is drawn well at gate 3 and should go close back against her own sex.
Race 5: IN OTHER WORDS(1)
IN OTHER WORDS tasted her first c & d defeat in a feature in December and she was immediately given time off. The track specialist is best weighted in this Pinnacle Stakes and the engaging of top jockey Delpech indicates that her conditioner will have her fit and well. The daughter of Trippi is a huge contender.
Race 7: LIQUID RAINBOW(8)
LIQUID RAINBOW is only having his third career outing and he showed fair progress when running on late to finish just out of the money over this track & trip earlier this month. He has just over two lengths to find with the runner-up GOLD SAIL but that was his first taste of this surface and he should have plenty more to offer. The son of Querari is his jockey’s only ride on the card.
