- Sell all horses to sweepstake entrants at a fixed price each.
- Individually cut out the horses’ names from the foot of the sweepstake page.
- Put all of the names into a box or a hand and get each entrant to draw a horse.
- Write the name of each entrant beneath the horse that they drew.
Prize breakdown – an example
Say for example each entrant pays R100 to enter. With 18 runners, your total prize pool will be R1 800. With four winners your split could look like this:- 1st place – 50% of the pool = R900
- 2nd place – 25% of the pool = R450
- 3rd place – 15% of the pool = R270
- 4th place – 10% of the pool = R180
