DIAMOND GIRL is one of the better bets on today’s card. She has produced four good efforts to date. She raced from a handy position last time and stayed on well at the business end. The daughter of Philanthropist jumps from a mid-field draw and if keeping on a straight line, she should take a power of beating.

SIR MICHAEL looked a winner in his last start, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Do It Again. He finished third in his only C&D attempt, three runs ago. He drops back to Handicap Company this afternoon and should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

CAVALIERI showed good signs of a form return in his last start over 1000m on this course. He was outpaced and with 400m to go, he had a lot of work to do. However, the manner in which he ran on in the final 200m was eye-catching. He will love the extra furlong on offer and with Marco van Rensburg in the saddle, he may return to winning ways.
