The son of William Longsword should have no issues with the 1400m and he will be cherry-ripe. S’manga Khumalo takes the ride and he go one better here.

SEQUOIA ran a good race when finishing fourth over 1400m at Turffontein last time. He raced from a handy position and stayed on nicely at the finish. He takes a slight drop in class and it is encouraging that Muzi Yeni keeps faith in the ride. If suited to the polytrack, he should be the one to beat.

RUNNING RIFLES followed up his maiden win with a good fourth-place finish over 1200m on the turf. He was squeezed at the start that day and had to switch at the 150m mark. The son of Vercingetorix will love the step up to the mile and with a bit of luck in running, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

MAJORCA PALACE’S last two starts over the minimum distance have been good. He has won twice from three starts over this C&D. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should notch up his fifth career victory.

That should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has won twice and finished second once from five starts over this C&D. S’manga Khumalo takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
