Winning Form - Horse Racing - Best Bets and Tips

Winning Form Best Bets
Race 1: PRAY FOR RAIN (6)
Race 2: PACIFIC RIM (2)
Race 5: VFORVICTORY (5)
Race 6: WALDORF ASTORIA (3)

Race 1 PRAY FOR RAIN (6)

Jockey: M Bylevld – Trainer: D Drier

Over half the field in this opening event are unraced 2yr olds and a close eye must be kept on the betting market to get some indication as to how the various stables feel about their chances of winning here. Of the raced runners, PRAY FOR RAIN from visiting KZN trainer Dennis Drier’s yard, may be the best of them. He attracted betting support when making his debut over 900M at this venue. He showed speed, before not going on with his effort. He would have learnt from the experience and with the natural improvement that can be expected, he should be right up there when they hit the line.

Race 2: PACIFIC RIM (2)
Jockey: G Cheyne – Trainer: C Bass-Robinson

PACIFIC RIM has solid recent form to his name. He drops back to seven furlongs after just being run out of it late in his last outing over a mile. His jockey dropped his crop in his penultimate outing over six furlongs and should have finished closer to the winner as a result.

Race 3: VOICE OF REASON (11)
Jockey: K de Melo – Trainer: G van Zyl

VOICE OF REASON showed the expected improvement second time out when stepping up to this distance. She is the only runner on the day from the stable of visiting KZN trainer Gavin van Zyl’s yard. If she has continued along that path, she looks to be the one to be with here starting from her mid-field draw.

TOP BET FOR TODAY
Race 4: IN AURO (1)

Jockey: A Marcus – Trainer: V Marshall

IN AURO has consistent recent formlines to his credit. He drops back to ten furlongs, over which trip he finished a close up second in his penultimate start. The blinkers he wore in his last two outings are removed today. It is always encouraging when Anton Marcus keeps faith in the ride.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY
Race 5: BROTHER LOUIS (9)
Jockey: M Byleveld – Trainer: G Woodruff

BROTHER LOUIS has followed up his maiden win with four solid efforts. He was cut into during his last start over this c&d and did well to finish as close to the winner as he did. From pole position he is taken to cause the upset here.
