WINTER’S AWAKENING followed up her maiden win with a decent second-place finish behind Our Prized Jewel who has come out and won again since. She takes a slight drop in class this afternoon and will enjoy the step up to the nine furlongs. Bernard Fayd’Herbe takes the ride and the combination should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

Jockey: V.Niekerk G – Trainer: Snaith J
GREEN JACKET has not finished too far off the winner in his last three starts. He stayed on well at the finish last time and it must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He finished 1.1 lengths behind SAVEA in his penultimate start and is 5.5kgs better off at the weights. That should be enough for the tables to be turned. Grant van Niekerk does duty today and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

NASTY HARRY is the value bet on today’s card. He ran a fair race in his comeback run over the minimum trip at Durbanville.
