LIM’S RAY has battled to find the winners box, but he has dropped in class and appears to have found a good opportunity to turn things around when he goes to post in a modest Class 5 event to start the meeting. BEAT WITNESS caught the eye last time out when flashing home late and he gets the services of Duric this time, who will be an attractive engagement for his followers.
Vlad Duric was crowned champion jockey once again last Thursday, for a third straight year in succession and he has a solid book of rides to add to his ever-growing list of wins in Singapore. He rides the obvious pick in the feature race on the card, the 8th race when he lines up at the start aboard the Clements trained TOP KNIGHT. In addition, all of LIM’S PRIDE (7), RUNMINDERBINERRUN (9) and CHURCHILL (10) could result in a clean sweep in the last four races, for the talented Australian. See more about the rest of the card, starting with the first race here.
MIGHTY VAIN should be the right one to follow in the second race, having placed in his last three outings and he looks ready to find the winners box. Powell takes the mount from a useful barrier and from a handy position, he should be tough to pass in the closing stages. GODS GIFT has some decent form and despite the wide draw, he should be running on strongly with a reasonable chance in an open race.

QIJI FLYER comes off the back of a solid effort in Novice company last time out and he will relish this return to the Poly surface. Drawn well here, he will be handy and appears to have found the right race to land the lions share of the prize money. If he misses, LORD JUSTICE looks the likeliest of the rest, to pull off a win. He trialed well recently and has plenty of speed to go into contention in this field.

AUGUSTUS was narrowly beaten in his last start, adding to a string of useful performances of late. He just missed over the mile last time out and from a much better draw this time, he has found the right sort of conditions to be a leading contender here. With the extra furlong in mind, he’s tipped to win the 4th race.

The 5th race takes us to the halfway mark and its MISTER DYNAMO who looks tough to oppose as he drops in class for the first time. Drawn well, he gets the services of Vlad Duric and he will take a lot of beating in this affair. DECRETO showed some decent improvement last time out and the experienced son of Henrythenavigator lands another useful draw to go a lot closer this time. He is a 4-time winner over this trip and up to this class and must be included in wider perms.

MY DREAMLINER is the pick to land the 6th race. He finds a tough draw to overcome, but he is in solid form and he has the speed to get over to race handy. With a bit of luck in running, he should be able to build on that solid run of form he is currently experiencing. A roughie in the pack could be the top-weight, DARC BOUNTY. He is a class dropper with 5 wins to his name and despite his wide draw, he must be respected.

The best bet on the card comes in the 7th race, where LIM’S PRIDE appears to have landed on a very competitive rating. The inform Duric gets the mount and he looks a winner if finding his best form. EL PRIMERO should be the best of the rest, as he comes off the back of a decent trial. He could be chasing shadows as far as the top one is concerned, but worth a place bet nonetheless.

TOP KNIGHT, as mentioned in the introduction, should be the obvious pick in this Class 2 headliner on the card. The son of Zoustar ran a blinder last time out and he will relish stepping back up to the 7-furlongs here. Duric retains the ride and he will be very tough to beat. ARAMAAYO looks a useful sort in the making. He has his third outing in Singapore, on the back of two eye-catching efforts. From a reasonable draw, he must be included for minor money.

The penultimate race on the card looks like another penalty kick for Duric when he jumps aboard RUNMINDERBINDERRUN. The son of Smart Missile flew home last time out, having been dropped out from a wide draw and from gate 4 here, he should be the right one to follow with some confidence. If he does get beat, HIDDEN PROMISE could be the one to cause the upset. He too finds a much-improved draw and must be respected at the very least.

Finally, the meeting closes with a tricky Class 4 sprint over 6-furlongs. CHURCHILL makes his Singapore debut on the back of a very encouraging trial for his connections and on what he showed in that effort, he should win this. There may be a few doubts, with this being his first competitive outing here, so his followers could pick up a bit of value. ATLAS deserves plenty of respect, having found the winners box in both of his attempts here. If he hasn’t been caught by the handicapper yet, he will be involved in the finish.
