An exciting and competitive seven-race programme is scheduled for Alice Springs on Saturday as they have their first meeting since the delay caused by the Covid 19 pandemic. The best bet on the card is NIC NAC in Race 1 and the value bet on the card, HENRY LAD, will attempt to make amends this afternoon after narrowly failing last time out.

Race 1
NIC NAC is the best bet on the card. He may have won easier than the one length margin suggests last time out when beating Alvin Purple and can notch up another victory with a 2kgs apprentice allowance, assisting his cause. BRAZILLIANT hasn’t finished too far off the winner recently and looks the biggest threat to the top selection. The mare HUSSON PARK got hampered at the start last time and she should finish much closer this time around.
Race 2
RAWTEKK got hampered at the start last time out but still ran an impressive second behind Rhythmical. The form line of Brazilliant in the previous race needs to be checked as he wasn’t far behind RAWTEKK in that contest. SILENT ICE beat the top selection three runs ago and if recapturing that form, will be a big runner. RADIO ROOM was hampered at the start last time and then was held up for a run at the 400m mark. He is much better than that effort.
Race 3
AUSBRED WAAWOR suffered interference in the early stages of the race last time out and still managed to finish runner-up behind Nic Nac (Runs in Race 1). GUARDIAN has placed in his last two runs and although he is drawn wide this afternoon, he can still pose a threat to the top selection. REYNARD must have a say on his penultimate run when third at Murray Bridge on a slow track and must be considered in this contest.
Race 4
ROUGHLY has put in two solid efforts this season and from pole position, should take a power of beating in this contest. MAUDY holds a few of these runners on the run behind Golden Dice and looks the biggest threat to the top selection. EIGHTEEN BOMBERS is better than that last start and holds some of these runners on his penultimate effort when runner-up behind So Stoic.
Race 5
ALVIN PURPLE finished runner-up behind Nic Nac and punters will be eagerly awaiting that formline to be franked. WHITWORTH is a consistent sort and only got beaten by just over a length last time out. He looks the biggest danger to the top selection. GRAND CASTAGNO is held by the second selection on his last start but can run into the places this afternoon.
Race 6
SAMIYOMAR performed positively behind Regal Capital last time out, despite racing wide throughout and looks the one to beat in this contest. He has a neat draw and a creditable record here at Alice Springs. REAL ROYAL has been rested after a disappointing last run and is much better than that effort. RAZOR BEER placed behind Nic Nac (Watch form line of Race 1).
Race 7
TOMAHAWK LAD and HENRY LAD renew their rivalry this afternoon and the pair look set to fight out the finish. A slight preference is for HENRY LAD who jumps from a better barrier position this afternoon and has a chance of reversing the formline with his recent conqueror. The New Zealand-bred EXONERATE is never off the winner and can run into the places again.
