Race 5
DOOM has consistent formlines to his name and finished strongly when second last time out over six furlongs, just a half-length off the winner. He has drawn the widest of them all, but given his style of running, he will probably be dropped out of it early and should be doing his best work late. OKIE showed marked improvement in his last outing when dropping down from ten furlongs to finish third over the six furlongs in his latest run, three lengths behind the victor. He has a far kinder draw at gate four and could be the biggest danger to the top choice. RED SATIN is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys. She drops back in trip after finishing sixth in her last outing over 1500M, where she was unable to hold off the late challengers. She has a wide draw of ten, but the shorter distance of today’s contest is sure to be to her liking.

Race 6
TEN TAUBADA’S was well fancied in the betting market when finishing second in his last start over this distance, just a length behind the winner. He completed his hat-trick when winning over this c&d three runs back and from a handy gate two, he is taken to be the value bet on today’s card. ALL EEZ steps up in trip after finishing fifth in his latest run over six furlongs and gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time today. If these have the desired effect, he should be involved in the finish here, despite having to negotiate a wide eleven draw. TARAKI is a 5yr old mare taking on males, but she was only outrun late last time out when second over 1500M, 0.8L back from the winner. She seems certain to appreciate the drop in distance and has drawn gate four.

Race 7
KING KLAUS has only had the four starts to date but has won two of them, the latest when putting 2.3L between himself and the opposition over five furlongs. He jumps from a wide gate thirteen, but he should use his early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy. LINGALONGA LASS is a 7yr old mare taking on boys. She was only overhauled in the shadow of the post when a neck back in her last outing over 1100M. She has a far kinder gate two and could represent a major threat to the top pick. MASSABIELLE is a 5yr old mare who has cracked pole position and although sixth in her last run over this distance, she was just three lengths behind the winner. She has a set of blinkers fitted for the first time today and if these make her concentrate all the way down to the line, she could be a factor here.

Race 8
APPLICANT had his consistency rewarded with a two and a half-length victory last time out over five furlongs. He was returning from a 13-week rest that day and if he can confirm that effort here, he should be right up there in the mix, jumping from draw four. OYASHIO was a jump to wire winner by half a length of his maiden race last time out over this distance. He was also returning from a 13-week break from the race track and should be considered for all bets. His ten draw is a bit of a concern. TADWEEN has shown steady improvement in his last two outings, the latest when finishing third over five furlongs, a neck behind the winner. He jumps from gate two and could complete the trifecta.

Race 4
DUCHESS OF WINDSOR is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys, but she won easing up by five and a half lengths last time out over this c&d. She hit the front at the 200M mark that day and then cruised to a comfortable victory. She has a handy three draw and may prove to be hard to topple here. She is taken to be the best bet on the program. HENDO’S MAGIC has finished second in his last two outings over nine furlongs and stayed on well when one length off the winner last time out. She steps up in distance, but there appears to be nothing to suggest that this should be an issue and he could emerge as the biggest danger to the top choice. WILD SHEILA is a 5yr old mare who improved when stepping up from a mile to finish third last time out over ten furlongs, just 0.6L behind the winner. A repeat of that effort would see her involved in the finish here.

Race 5
CHAZELLES is a 5yr old mare taking on males, but she is seldom far off the action and ended up in fifth place in her latest run over the c&d. The form of that race has been franked and she should give the boys a good run for their money. DODECANESE followed up his penultimate win over five furlongs with a fifth-place finish over the same distance next time out, just under two lengths behind the winner. He jumps from gate seven and should be included in all bets. EVER SO NATURAL is drawn one inside the latter and showed good improvement to win his last start over six furlongs, despite being friendless in the betting markets. If he is able to repeat that effort here, he should be right up there in the mix.

Race 6
DETERGE made good late progress before finishing fourth last time out over 1100M, one a half-length adrift of the victor. He was hampered over the closing 100M of that race and might have just about won but for that incident. He jumps from a mid-field seven draw and looks to be the value in the race. RICCARDO is drawn one inside the top pick. He won his penultimate start over the five furlongs and then showed plenty of speed before going down by three lengths next time out over five furlongs. He needs to be respected in this line-up. CASINO KID finished strongly to win his maiden race last time out over 1100M, suggesting that the extra ground on offer here will be to his liking. He takes on stronger here, but might well be up to the task on hand.

Race 7
This looks to be a trick race to end off the Jackpot and some caution is advised. COCO CUBER finished best of them all to win his last outing over this trip by one and a half lengths. He is sure to put his draw two to good use here. PATAGONIAN has consistent formlines to his credit and finished second over the c&d last time out, beaten just a neck. From his gate seven, be is likely to turn in another honest effort today. MOCCASIN MISS is a 7yr old mare taking on boys, but she showed marked improvement to win her last start over 1100M when returning from an 11-week break. She is drawn one outside the latter is should ensure that the males know that they have been in a race. KOOTALOO is a 4yr old filly who is seldom too far off the winner. She has her second run after a rest and is drawn wide at gate eleven, but will have ex-SA jockey Glyn Schofield in the irons, so will get all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 5
With the late scratching of one of his main rivals, the way may have been cleared for AURELIUS HERO to chalk up his eleventh career victory. He has cracked pole position and followed up his 4.3L win in his penultimate start with a second-place finish over the same distance, just a half-length behind the winner. He has his peak run today and is taken to be the value bet on today’s card. YANKEE LOU has shown steady improvement in his last two runs and finished well to score by a neck last time out over five furlongs. He has a wide draw of ten to negotiate, but he could nevertheless still be the biggest danger to the top choice. RONAY is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys, but she was only a head back in second place last time out over this c&d. She has gate six and will have 4kgs removed from her allocated weight courtesy of her claiming apprentice.

Race 6
I AM THE FOX and ZOUY’S COMET renew their rivalry today and a reversal of form is a distinct possibility. The former finished 0.2L behind the latter in their last clash over this c&d, but is a full 3kgs better off at today’s weights. That should be more than enough for the tables to be turned. With the late scratchings in the race, the top pick comes into draw fifteen, whereas the latter remains in gate nine. WARDY BOY won his maiden race last time out over 1500M, despite hanging in the closing stages. He takes a sharp rise in distance here, but if handling the extra ground, he could trouble the top two selections.

Race 7
A 4yr old filly and a 6yr old mare could fight out the finish to this race and complete the exacta. GINNY ANN is seldom far off the action and finished third last time out over six furlongs, just 0.6L behind the victor. She gets to jump from gate five and is likely to put in another honest performance today. MY DIVAS has turned in two solid recent runs over the c&d, the latest when finishing second, a short-head behind the winner. He attracted plenty of betting support that day and will be looking to make amends here. He is however drawn the widest of them all at gate sixteen, but on the plus side, he will get 4kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. HONORABLE SPIRIT was making good late progress when fourth in his last outing over 1500M. He is drawn at eight and could be involved in the finish here.

Race 8
A tricky race ends the Jackpot and some caution is advised.  KODAKHAN has pulled pole position and showed marked improvement in his last two starts, the latest when third over five furlongs, 1.3L off the winner. He battled all the way down to the wire that day and if showing the same determination here, he should be right up there in the firing line. THUNDERBOLT TWO ended up in fourth place last time out over five furlongs when returning from a 29-week break. He starts from a mid-field seven draw and should not be overlooked in this field. POLYXENA is a 6yr old mare taking on males, but she stayed on last time out over this trip and will have the services of a 2kg claiming apprentice. She should be included in all bets, despite having a wide eleven draw. GINGERSON won his penultimate start over five furlongs and then finished second next time out over this c&d, 1.3L behind the winner. He is drawn the widest of them all, but he is likely to use his early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy.
