Race 1
DE PLACE produced a promising debut effort over this course and distance. She raced from a handy position that day and stayed on well at the business end. The daughter of City Place would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she has a good chance of going one better today. MOOD SWINGS is an unraced son of War Chant from the George Dupre stable. He produced two promising barrier trials coming into this race and if not too green, can get his career off to a positive start. Chris Parnham does duty this afternoon and the betting market with be the best guide with regards to their chances.

Race 2
INTERSTATE has produced three good runs since given a lengthy 37-week break. The manner in which he finished off his last start over 1500m at Ascot was encouraging. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of War Chant will enjoy the rise in distance this afternoon and should be the one they all have to beat. MISS MALIBU is a filly taking on the boys and she has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She gets the services of a 3kg claiming apprentice this afternoon which may help her cause. Should the top selection fluff his lines, she may be the once to pick up the pieces.

Race 3
MIMS WIN has good recent form lines to his credit. He should have finished closer to the winner in his last start, but found traffic problems up the straight. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He gets the services of a 3kg claiming apprentice this afternoon and may be rewarded for consistency. WORTH A RISK’S last three starts have been good. She raced from a handy position in her last start and tried hard all the way to the wire. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She is likely to race on the speed again today and may be hard to peg back in the closing stages.

Race 4
BLACK LIGHTNING produced two decent efforts before given a 21-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. She should not have any issues with regards to fitness as she has had a decent barrier trial coming into this race. It is encouraging that William Pike does duty on her return and the combination should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure. CHOKSLAM produced three good efforts before being given a 25-week break. She has finished second once and third once in her attempts over this distance and she won her barrier trial coming into this race so shouldn’t have any concerns with regards to fitness. Jason Whiting knows her well and the pair should be right there in the run down to the wire.

Race 5
AGENT JAY was an impressive maiden winner in his last start over a similar distance on this course. He sped off to the lead that day and managed to find another kick up the straight. He does take on stronger opposition this afternoon, but the manner in which he won last time suggests there is more to come from the son of Snippetson. Shaun Mc Gruddy retains the ride and the pair can notch up a quick double. GIBRALTAR DANCER followed up his maiden victory with a decent effort over six furlongs at Pinjarra Park. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He is having his peak run this afternoon and should be cherry-ripe. He returns to his favourite course and may be the one to throw out the biggest challenge to the top choice.

Race 6
ANGELIQUE’S FAME notched up a quick double in her last start on this course. She caught the eye when running on strongly up the straight to get up where it matters most. She is likely to settle near the rear of the field this afternoon and will be doing her best work late in order to try notch up the hat-trick of wins. Chris Parnham knows her well and the pair merit healthy respect. PAIR OF FIVEZ produced some decent form before given a well-deserved 29-week break. He is having a decent season having won twice and finishing second twice from seven outings. If returning fit and well, he should be right there in the run down to the finishing post.

Race 7
PEPPIJACK has produced two good runs since returning from a 22-week break. His record over this distance is decent having won four times, finishing second once and third once from seven attempts. His wide draw shouldn’t be a concern as he will use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy. He gets the services of a 4kg claiming apprentice which should help his cause. GOLDEN ARCHES finished just over two lengths behind the top selection in his last start. The pair meet on the same weight terms this afternoon so the son of Discorsi may have to settle for the same result. It must be noted that his last victory came under today’s apprentice Beaux Banovic-Edwards.

Race 8
COOL FROST produced a decent comeback run when returning from a 16-week break in her last start. She has won once and finished second three times from eight starts this season. She should strip a much fitter horse this afternoon and it is encouraging that Alan Kennedy takes the ride. From her mid-field barrier position, she may be the one to side with here. WHO’S A PRETTY GAL got back to winning ways in her last start over a similar distance. She does take on stronger company this afternoon, but the manner in which she won last time suggests that there should be more to come from the daughter of Galah.
