Race 1 – 05:15 – 1000m – Maiden Plate
Selections: 2 – 13 – 3 – 6 – 9
AY BEE ARE is tipped to win the opener after two decent efforts towards the back end of last year. The 3-year old son of Deep Field gave a good sight when returning fresh for a trial recently. That was his first sight of this course and distance and with scope for improvement, he should tough to oppose here. RAPOSA has had the benefit of a comeback run, following a decent trial after a six-month absence. She was only beaten by just over a length and with this being her 4th career start, she should have the scope to improve to go right into contention. BIG TALK and LORD OF HELICON have shown enough to earn minor money here.

Race 2 – 05:50 – 1600m – Maiden Handicap
Selections: 1 – 7 – 13 – 14 – 2
ELLIA has only had the two starts so far and the daughter of Poet’s Voice should have a fair amount of improvement still to come. She had a tough draw to overcome last time out, when stepping up to the 1400m after a promising debut and did well to stay on for fifth. If overcoming the draw this time, Greg Ryan should be able to guide her into contention and she should be worth following. DUSKTILLDAWN is still a maiden after 23 career starts, but he has been in commendable form for some time and the 4-year old son of Dawn Approach has winning credentials in this type of field.

Race 3 – 06:25 – 1600m – BM50 Handicap
Selections: 3 – 13 – 2 – 1 – 4
SHWANKY DOO has returned with some solid form this year, having followed up that win 2nd up with two good efforts of late. He produced an encouraging effort when stepping up to the mile last time out, producing his best effort over the final 400m. Greg Ryan retains the ride over the same course and distance and if building on that latest run, he should be a major factor in the finish. SNIPSELVA finished right behind the top selection last time when hitting the line with good intent. The 5-year old mare lands another plum draw and with the apprentice retaining the ride on current form, one gets the feeling she is going to show up soon and she must be considered strongly. CLEVER MISSILE and MISS MATRIARCH both arrive with good recent form to their names and look dangerous over the mile. It would be remiss to overlook their respective chances.

Race 4 – 07:04 – 1300m – BM50 Handicap
Selections: 3 – 1 – 2 – 7 – 8
KAHLO steps up in trip after two decent efforts since returning this year. The 3-year old daughter of Dissident has picked up her only career win over today’s trip and from a plum draw she looks tough to oppose with Andrew Banks retaining. BRAY won his last start which happened to be in this class. The slight rise in trip should suit and he should enjoy the slightly more sedate tempo. With a strong finish up his sleeve, he deserves inclusion. GINGER’S VOICE has only had the three starts so far and the 3-year old daughter of Poet’s Voice clearly enjoyed the slight rise in trip last time out, over this course and distance. If overcoming a wide barrier here, she could go start to finish.

Race 5 – 07:40 – 1100m – C,G&E BM58 Handicap
Selections: 3 – 7 – 10 – 8 – 2
DEMONIZE has followed up that recent win with two solid efforts and he arrives here on the back of a good third over this course and distance last time. That was in stronger company and with Kath Bell-Pitomac retaining the ride from a decent draw, he should be a big factor here and can win this. CASH FACTOR showed plenty of early speed last time out when returning for his first run this year. He did well to keep rolling for just a 3,74-length defeat on that occasion and if stripping fitter this time, he should go close. DYNAMITE DAN appears to be the best of the rest. The 87-year old steps up in trip and in class after a good third last time out. If repeating his effort in that penultimate run, he should go right into contention at the business end.

Race 6 – 08:15 – 1100m – BM58 Handicap
Selections: 3 – 2 – 6 – 5 – 1
The meeting closes with the 6th event on the programme and punters can finish on a high, if following the suggested best bet. That comes in the form of ANGIE EMM, who lines up for her 5th career outing here. The 3-year old daughter of Eurozone is yet to miss the first three places so far and with the scope for improvement from a perfect draw, she rates the one to beat. ALL HOLLYWOOD went close to winning last time out, over this trip. The 3-year old filly from the Brett Thompson camp will be looking to settle a little closer to the leading line this time and she must be included. DREAMS OUT WEST and MUSIC MISS have been in good enough form to feature at this level and must be considered for minor money.
