Race 5
DON’T LEAVE ME OUT was a bit disappointing last time out over six furlongs, but drops back in trip here and did win his penultimate outing over this c&d. He has a wide draw to overcome, but he should be doing his best work late. PAY WITH CASH returns from a 21-week break. He has consistent formlines to his credit and did win his last start over the c&d. BLUE COMET takes a big drop in distance, but jumps from a handy draw and may appreciate the shorter journey. YOUR OPTION is a 6yr old mare taking on the boys and is another with a poor draw, but she finished fourth last time out over five furlongs and seems certain to enjoy the step up in distance.
Race 6
JOLIETTE has consistent recent form to her name and finished fourth last time out over this trip. From her handy draw, she could be the one to settle on here. FAY CONQUERS ALL ran on well when finishing second, just two lengths behind the winner last time out, over this distance. A repeat of that effort would see her trouble the former. MARAKOPA makes his debut, but he has put in three solid barrier trials. Any betting support for him should be respected. INSIDE INFORMATION has his first start for his new trainer, but he brings fair form into the race. If fully acclimatized in his new surroundings, he is one to consider here.
Race 7
JACKPOT JAY finished strongly to win his last outing over this c&d in the shadow of the post. He attempts his hat-trick here and the manner in which he has won his last two runs would suggest that this is very much on the cards. He will, however, face strong opposition from PEPPI LA FEW who has a solid c&d record and also attempts his trio of wins here. He does have a wide draw to negotiate, but he rates a real threat to the former. ECKER ROAD was just a neck behind the winner in his last outing over 1500M and is likely to relish the slight drop in trip. ABB ROY is a 6yr old mare taking on the boys, but she is seldom too far off the action and should give the males a good run for their money.
Race 8
MULETA finished strongly to win his maiden race over this c&d last time out. He takes on stronger here and has a wide draw to deal with, but he should be picking off the frontrunners in the closing stages of the race. DON’T STOP won his last race over a mile and steps up to nine furlongs today, but he did finish just behind the winner in his penultimate start over this distance, so this should not be an issue. ZIGALLENE is a 3yr old filly taking on males, but she won her last start over seven furlongs from the front and she may prove difficult to reel in over the closing stages here. Her wide draw is however a bit of a concern. CLASS OF ROYALTY was a tad disappointing in his hat-trick bid last time out over 1300M and he will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways today.
Race 9
BENFICA PRINCESS is a 6yr old mare taking on the boys. She surprised many when winning at big odds last time out over this trip, but if that was not just a flash in the pan, she should ensure that the males know that they have been in a race. BERNIE’S TIGER has won his last two starts over a mile and goes for his hat-trick today. He has a handy draw and is not without hope of achieving the feat. KINGS FULL put in a fair effort last time out over a mile and steps up to nine furlongs here. He starts from a mid-field draw and should make his presence felt in this contest. LA PULGA was perhaps a little disappointing in his last outing, but a repeat of this run three starts back over this distance would make him a runner here.
Race 10
GREY MISSILE just failed last time out over 1300M and drops down to six furlongs, the distance over which he won three runs back. From his handy draw, be should be right up there in the firing line. BOOM CHICKA BOOM was a narrow loser of his last race over five furlongs after winning his previous start over the same distance. He should be involved in the finish once again. SPURCRAFT has a good record over this distance and gets the blinkers removed for today’s outing. He has a poor draw to negotiate, but he should use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy. REMOVAL finished third, just 0.6L behind the winner in his last start over five furlongs when starting favourite and he should be respected in this contest.
Race 11
A large field faces the starter in the last race on today’s program and finding the winner will be no easy task. The very tentative selection goes to BOLD WARRIOR, who although drawn very wide, possesses good gate speed that he might be able to negate that disadvantage. He goes well at this venue and should be right up there when they reach the finishing post. MR TICKETS won last time out over 1500M and drops to seven furlongs today. He seldom finishes too far back and should be respected in today’s line-up. SUPERGIANT returns from a 19-week rest, but won first time out over this c&d. Any betting support for him should be taken note of. GREAT KEPPELL has consistent recent form to his name and the trainer/jockey combination have a good strike rate. He does, however, have a wide draw to contend with.
