RACE 1
U W BROTHER was
only beaten 0.6L by Bella Baby last time out. He has his third run after a rest
and should be absolutely cherry-ripe for this contest. FLYING MONEY has placed in his last two starts. He was only beaten
2.5L by Gouten of Garo and there are a few runners from that form line
contesting in this race. LA BOMBA
was beaten by the selection last time out. He only meets him on 0.5kgs better
weight terms and may have to settle for the same result.
RACE 2
GREAT SMART finished
runner-up his last outing. He was only beaten 0.5L by You Have My Word on that
occasion and he can make amends for that defeat from pole position. YES WE CAN finished well behind
Nunchuks who ran a creditable race next time out. He jumps from an inside
barrier position and despite shouldering top weight in this contest, he merits
healthy respect. MASTER ROMAN
finished right behind the selection last time out. He is 3kgs worse off at the
weights, which may not be enough to turn the tables.
RACE 3
SUPER EIGHTEEN
made an eye-catching return to the races last time out. He was only pipped by a
neck at the wire and he shoulders a very similar light weight in this contest.
He is still a one-time winner but if repeating that last effort then he can
find himself in the winner’s enclosure. BULLISH
BROTHER has found peak fitness. He won his last start narrowly defeating
Whiskey Neat (Runs in next race) and it is encouraging that apprentice Jerry
Chau has kept faith in the ride. LUCKY
QUALITY has placed in his last three starts. He brings some consistent form
into the race, was only beaten a head last time out and looks a strong
contender once again in this class.
RACE 4
WHISKEY NEAT is
coming along the right way! He was only beaten 0.5L by Bullish Brother last
time (Runs in Race 3) and his third career win looks on the horizon. SPRINT FORWARD found a form return in
his last start. He was only pipped at the wire by Here Comes Ted and he has the
ability to make amends for that defeat. HARRIER
JET has placed in his last two outings. He has his third run after a rest
and one can expect him to put his best foot forward in the fourth race.
RACE 5
LEAP OF FAITH
should appreciate the step up to a mile at this stage of his career. He is
having his third run after a rest and looks fairly handicapped in this contest
with just 54kgs on his back. NABOO STAR was a narrow winner of his last
start. He jumps from an inside barrier and if not too far off the pace when
turning for home then he should be mowing down the frontrunners in the dash to
the wire. SUMSTREETSUMWHERE was
rewarded for consistency last time out over this c&d. He jumps from an
outside barrier position but if he can repeat his latest effort then he can run
into the money once again.
RACE 6
FAITHFUL TRINITY
was a narrow winner last time out. He got up to win by a head where it matters
most to defeat All You Know. He is similarly handicapped in this contest and it
would be no surprise to see him make it back-to-back triumphs. PLAY WISE has finished runner-up in his
last two outings. He renews his rivalry with REGENCY MASTER and the weights suggest that the pair should be very
competitive in the sixth race.
RACE 7
SKY DARCI is only
a two-time winner but he is still clearly on the upgrade. He was narrowly
beaten in his last outing when going down a neck behind Highland Fortune. The
break may have down him the world of good and if returning fit then he will
take a power of beating. HARDLY SWEARS
is a three-time c&d winner. He ran on from far back last time out when
beaten by MEHBOOB and now meets his
conqueror 2kgs better off at the weights. MIG
ENERGY was right behind the second and third selection last time out. He
will benefit from a 4.5kgs claiming apprentice which brings him right into this
race.
RACE 8
SHAMPORT beat Mig
Energy (Runs Race 7) last time in his comeback effort. He has run two good
races with Joao Moreira in the saddle and the pair should be tough to peg back in
the eighth race. LE TERROIR won well
last time out under this apprentice. He faces a stiff task against the top
selection but Matthew Poon retains the ride, and the pair must be respected
once again. ISLAND SHINE is drawn
wide. He gets top French rider Tony Piccone in the irons which should assist
him in getting across from his wide barrier position without using up too much
energy. He had consistent form before the break and if returning fit then he
can run into the money.
RACE 9
PACKING WALTHAM
is an unexposed three-year old gelding. He won his last three starts well in
France and makes his local debut this evening. The booking of Karis Teetan in
the saddle suggests that this individual has shown some potential back at home
and if bringing his French form to the races then he may represent decent
each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. COLOMBUS COUNTY won well
over this distance at Sha Tin before the break. He shoulders top weight in this
contest but is drawn best of all and will get all the necessary assistance with
Joao Moreira in the saddle. STAR SHINE
has placed in his last two outings. He tries nine furlong for the first time
and if handling the extra ground on offer, then he can run into the money of
the lucky last race.
