PLACE ACCUMULATOR – R216 (Starts RACE 4)

1,5,8/1,2,4/7,10,11/5,6/1,8/12/2,3

RACE 1

KING ZOUSTAR former Lee Freedman charge having his first start for the Jason Ong yard. The 5-year old chestnut gelding is back on the poly after an ordinary run on turf last time out in January. He had a nice barrier trial and should be right there. LIM’S SHOT from the Tan yard has been runner-up in his last two starts. The 8-year old bay gelding loves this course and distance and must have a say despite the wide draw.  LAI MAK MAK  blinkers-pacifiers seem to have sharpened him up. His back over extra and must have a say here.

RACE 2

IMA hit the front but run down last time out. Blinkers fitted on now and if he can keep his mind on the job inside the concluding stages, he may not throw the race away this time. ACCUMULATION had a good comeback run. He switches back to turf his not the most reliable customer around, but if he can reproduce his last start, he can have a strong say in this. WHO LOVES BAE Had excuses as he was caught wide and returned lame. Blinkers and pacifiers come off and he should run a better race today.

RACE 3

PROSPEROUS RETURN a very smart horse in the making. A course and distance winner on only his second start and has won on the polytrack since. One to follow and the horse to beat here. KING’S COMMAND a useful type who ran well behind the top selection last time out and the step-up in trip will suit. WHISTLE GRAND up a couple of points for a good second to Thunder and he should give the top picks a run for their money.

RACE 4

MALIBU BEACH is starting to become costly to follow. He could not quite keep on with the early pace in his last start but made up some ground when the race was all over. Blinkers on, rise in distance is a question mark, though but worth another shot. MIGHTY VAIN has been knocking on the door. If he can overcome the wide draw, he’ll be right in the mix in this. SAYONARA trip too short last time. He will be better suited by 1700m, even if it is a big leap in distance. Blinkers off again can go close again.

RACE 5

STARLIGHT a talented sort, who has now won two from three in a short career. Up in trip here but looks to have more to offer still. MADE IN RUSSIA down in class and looks well placed to run well with an excellent one-kilo claimer in Noh Senari.  GOLDEN FLAME from the Donna Logan yard an ultra-consistent sort who can once again be in the thick of things.

RACE 6

PHAXE didn’t let down as expected last time out. Might have found the 1000m too short. He will be better suited to 1200m and must have a say here. SPEED RACER still winless after 18 starts but showed he made significant headway last time out when a fast-finishing second to High Limit. No weight on his back again. HIGH VOLTAGE  has been running well without winning in this class. Will probably try and have the last run from the wide draw.

RACE 7

ON LINE another runner in good form currently and has Louis-Philippe Beuzelin back on board here. Conditions suit him well and a big run is expected. SILENT PARTNER from the Mark Walker yard tries this distance for the first time, but the booking of champion jockey Vlad Duric could be key. WIND TRAIL is a decent stayer who is in good form and represents a leading chance in a race of this nature.

RACE 8

MUSTENGO stablemate of the second selection is racing in super form right now. He has more weight to carry but can go close again here. AXEL this topweight is absolutely bursting to win another race and continues to run well without getting the head in front. A chance can be taken with him in a very open race. VOLUMINOUS a mare win bags of stamina and was seen to good effect last time out when winning over the mile.

RACE 9

TUESDAY from the Michael Clements yard has had two impressive wins in a row. This is a tougher ask, but his connections and trainer think he is very good and have bigger targets in mind. BE BEE classy horse who has trialed very well recently in blinkers. He has worn the headgear on a few occasions and has run well. He is very nicely handicapped now days and this could bring about a return to the winner’s circle. QUARTER BACK won a recent barrier trial and has plenty of old form that puts him bang in the thick of things here.

RACE 10

LIM’S BESTBREAKER stable and jockey combination in form. He will be chasing down the leaders in the straight and can win if he is good enough. SUN TREK had every chance with a fairly soft lead second-up but was nabbed by Stunning Cat in the closing stages. He should be able to show the way from a decent draw.  I AM SACRED not given a ride that did him justice last start. Kept out wide and battled on, but winner Tuesday was too good. If ridden more astutely, can threaten here.
