Race 2
DERBARI has plenty going for him and looks the best bet on today’s program. He has his peak run here and gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time. In addition, he will get 1.5kgs taken off his back courtesy of his claiming apprentice. TAMARIN FALLS has his first run after three good barrier trials. Keep an eye on the betting to get some indication as to how his connections feel about his chances. BROADLEA is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys, but she finished strongly last time out over 1300M and should enjoy the step-up in distance. Her handy draw is a plus. LISITSA is a 3yr old filly who has her first run today. The betting may be the best guide as to her chances.

Race 3
POSTCODE has his peak run here and seldom finishes too far off the action and should appreciate going the extra distance. MUCH MUCH BETTER was narrowly beaten last time out over seven furlongs and will be looking to go one better today. The drop in trip is sure to suit him. WHEELHOUSE was also a narrow loser last time out when making his debut over six furlongs. He would no doubt have come on with the run under his belt and could trouble the top two selections. COLONEL makes his debut here after putting in four encouraging barrier trials. Any betting support for him should be respected.

Race 4
PIZZLY is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she was only caught in the shadow of the post last time out over six furlongs and despite having a wideish draw, she looks to be the one to side with here. RANGES last two runs have been encouraging and if he is able to reproduce those efforts here, he would pose a serious threat to the former. HOYSTRYKE returns from a 18-week break, but put in a decent barrier trial and should be involved in the finish here. DIVA BELLA likes to race up with the speed in her races and may prove difficult to reel in over the closing stages.

Race 5
TOLEMAC has his peak run here and was hampered in the straight last time out when finishing 2.4L behind the winner over a mile. The gelding should be suited to the extra ground. SEGRILL is a filly taking on males, but she won her maiden race last time out over a mile and should relish going over nine furlongs today. THINK STRAIGHT disappointed last time out, but put in a solid penultimate effort over 1300M. A repeat of that effort would see him right up there at the line. MOON PANTHER has a wide draw to negotiate, but he has good early gate speed which he should use to get across without using up too much gate speed.

Race 6
AUXIN has his first run after a 16-week break, during which time he was gelded. He put up a solid barrier trial to prove his well-being and should give a very good account of himself here. INVICIBLE LAD returns from a lengthy 67-week break, but he has put in two encouraging barrier trials and looks to be a runner in this contest base on that. LESAGE’S last three efforts over this trip have been solid and he should once again acquaint himself well in this line-up.  ZEDWARD has his second run after a rest, but his comeback effort was encouraging and he should be right up there in the dash down to the wire.

Race 7
FAST ‘N’ FORWARD won at big odds when making her debut over this trip and clearly surprised her connections. She takes on the boys and stronger here, but she may be a better race track horse then at home and could surprise once again. REGAL STAGE returns from a 26-week rest, but won both his barrier trials and should give a bold showing in this contest. VAN GIZ has a wide gate to overcome, but she has the necessary speed to get across quickly and should make her presence felt here. IRISH SONGS drops sharply in distance and has a very wide draw to contend with, but he should be running on well at the business end of affairs.

Race 8
SIDE HUSTLE finished well to win his last start over six furlongs and on that effort, he should have no issue with seeing out the extra distance of today’s race. He rates the one to beat from his handy draw. LADY LEGEND takes on males here, but she has solid formlines to her name and should ensure that the boys know that they have been in a race. TIGEEN is a 5yr old mare who has had two disappointing trials since her last start, but if she is able to recapture her prior form, she would be a factor here. NITRIDE drops sharply in distance, but his two runs over a mile before that last outing, brings him into this race as a big runner.
