Race 5.
MINIFINN is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she had her consistency rewarded with her maiden win last time out over 1100M. She won going away from the opposition that day, putting nearly two and a half lengths between herself and the balance of the field. She has drawn gate nine out of the ten runners, but nevertheless is still made the value bet on today’s card. GARRISON also won his maiden race last time out over 1100M. He made good late progress when closing down for a 0.8L victory. From draw two, he could emerge as the biggest danger to the top choice. EXOTIC RUBY is a 5yr old mare who returns from a lengthy 48 week break and has her first run for her new trainer, but she has put in two solid barrier trials to prove her well-being.

Race 6.
HOLY SUNDAY has improved in his last two runs and finished strongly before ending up second in his last outing over a mile, suggesting that the extra ground on offer here will be to his liking. His handy draw two will do him no harm. TECTONICUS is drawn one outside the top pick and won his maiden race last time out over 1500M, despite being hampered at the 200M mark. He takes on stronger today, but on that last effort, he may well be up to the task on hand. HUBBLE has finished second in his last two outings, the latest over 1500M. He is drawn the widest of them all, but on the plus side, he will have 3kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. MALFY is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she has only had the two starts to date and won at the second time of asking when stepping up to the mile. She is drawn in gate five and will have her cause aided by having 1.5kgs removed from her allocated weight courtesy of her claiming appie.

Race 7.
The powerful Chris Waller stable could complete the exacta here with two 6yr old mares. SAVACOOL has finished second in her last two outings over further and drops down to the mile today. She has a wide draw of eleven to negotiate, but should be doing her best work late. Her stable companion TORYJOY is taken to chase her home. She also takes a drop in trip after finishing second in her last start over nine furlongs, one length behind the victor. She has however won a barrier trial over 1030M since that run and should be involved in the finish here. ORDER AGAIN on the other hand takes a step up in distance after finishing fourth last time out over seven furlongs. He looked dangerous that day and if taking to the extra ground, he could spoil the Waller party, jumping from his pole position.

Race 8.
BETHENCOURT took a bump at the start before recovering well to go on to win the race by half a length when making his debut over six furlongs. He returns from a 20 week rest, but has had the benefit of two barrier trials, winning the one and finishing second in the other. He clearly has some ability and from pole position, he is made the best bet on the day’s program. MILITARY ACADEMY has consistent formlines to his name and although sixth last time out over six furlongs, he was just 1.6L behind the winner. The form of that last race has been franked and he could be the biggest threat to the former. CALIFORNIA AUGUST is seldom far off the action and won his latest outing over this c&d to record his maiden victory. He showed plenty of determination that day and if showing the same effort here, he should turn in another honest performance here.

Race 5.
CONFUSION is seldom too far off the winner and was making good late progress when finishing fifth last time out over a mile, less than two lengths behind the winner. The form of that race has been franked and from his handy draw two, he could be the one to side with here. NUMBER ONE STAR missed out on his hat-trick when only run out of it late in his last start over this distance. He is drawn nine out of the eleven runners, but he should nevertheless still be involved in the finish today. PRINTMAKER has cracked pole position and showed good improvement last time out when trying to go from jump to wire before being caught in the shadow of the post to be denied victory by a head. He should be included in all bets.

Race 6.
DASHING TYCOON hit the front at the 250M mark and then kept going well to drew clear of the balance of the field to win his last start by two lengths over this ten furlong journey. He jumps from gate six and looks to be the value in the race. BUREAUCRAT put seven lengths between himself and the opposition when winning his maiden race last time out over this c&d. He takes on stronger today and is drawn the widest out at gate fourteen, but he should be doing his best work late. RED JEWEL GIRL is a 7yr old mare taking on the boys. She also won her maiden race last time out over ten furlongs, despite having to be hooked out wide entering the home straight. She finished strongly to claim victory by a short head and could be good enough to follow up here to record her double.

Race 7.
This looks to be a tricky race and some caution is suggested. STAR FINDER is a speedy sort who finished third, just under a length behind the winner in his latest outing over six furlongs at this venue. He is drawn in gate two and seems certain to appreciate the drop in trip here. GRANDVIEW AVENUE returns from a 17 week rest after having bled in his last start. He has not had the benefit of a barrier trial so his fitness will have to be taken on trust, but he has pulled pole position and was only beaten a head in his last outing over six furlongs before the break. GLENFERRIE GIRL is a 4yr old filly taking on males. She was doing good work late when ending up in third place last time out over five furlongs and should enjoy going the extra ground on offer here. RIVER SPAN followed up his penultimate run victory over 1100M with a fourth place finish over five furlongs next time out. He had to be steadied at the 75M mark when improving and should have finished closer to the winner as a result. He has gate three and with better luck in running today, he should be right up there in the firing line.

Race 8.
ZENDE has consistent formlines to his credit and finished third in his latest outing over six furlongs, just 0.6L off the victor. He took a bump at the 150M mark that day and might have won the race but for that incident. He was also the attention of betting support for that run and from draw six today, he is taken to be the best bet on the card. MEGAMEA is a 4yr old filly taking on boys, but she drew clear to win her last start over six furlongs by one and a half lengths. She will have to overcome a wide thirteen draw, but she should be picking off the frontrunner in the latter stages of the contest. FABIAN’S SPIRIT did not get the clearest of passages in the straight when winning his last outing over six furlongs at this track, which makes the victory that much more encouraging. He is drawn one inside the latter, but he too should be doing his best work over the closing stages.
