Race 1
With the two late scratchings, the field has been reduced to just five runners, of which HEIMBERG may prove to be the best. He won his maiden race last time out over a mile when putting 6.5L between himself and the rest of the field and may well complete the double here. He will, however, face plenty of opposition, not least of which from SOUL PURPOSE. She is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she too won her maiden race last time out, but over nine furlongs. She should have no issue with the extra distance and will have 2kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice. ALL THINGS is another last time out maiden winner. His win came over the mile and he has cracked pole position here to be one of the leading contenders. LANDO BAY only got beaten a head last time out over a mile when friendless in the betting markets. He should be respected here.

Race 2
A small, but competitive field faces the starter here and the narrow top pick goes to FARETTI who stayed on well last time out over 1300M when returning from a 27-week rest. He is drawn in a handy two gate and if not needing one more run, he could be the one to side with here. DIVINE ELEVEN won his last start to win his maiden race and although taking on stronger here, he may well be up to the task on hand. FULMINA is a 3yr old filly taking on males. She is another who won her maiden race last time out, but was then immediately rested for 19 weeks. She returns here having had two barrier trials, the latest of which she won. SRINI won his maiden race in his last outing over 1300M and steps up to the 1500M today. He must have some sort of chance of completing his double here.

Race 3
COSTA ZOU has finished second in his last two starts and has a handy five draw. He has a big chance of going one better today. FIRST FOOTMAN has consistent formlines to his credit and was just one length off the winner last time out over seven furlongs. He jumps from pole position and could be the biggest danger to the former. CALIFORNIA SPELL drops down from the mile where he was under two lengths behind the winner and should be involved in the finish here. RULES DON’T APPLY is seldom too far off the action and has his first run since a 15-week rest, but he won his barrier trial and can’t be overlooked in this contest.

Race 4
MEADOW LAND is a 2yr colt taking on older horses, but he has only had the one run where he finished second, just two lengths off the winner. He returns from a 14-week rest, but has put up two encouraging barrier trials and may prove difficult to topple here. GALLANT RUN’S last two outings have been over 1100M, where he showed good improvement in his latest effort. The drop in distance should not be an issue and he could be the biggest threat to the top choice. COAT OF ARMS is another 2yr old colt. He finished sixth on debut over five furlongs and no doubt would have come on with the run under his belt. BIZARRO has his second run after a 19 week break, but won’t find things easy from the widest draw of them all. Nevertheless, he should be considered for a minor place.

Race 5
BROOK HILL finished third on debut over six furlongs after posting two good barrier trial before that run. He jumps from gate two today and could be the one to be with here. BUCKINRIPPA was a bit disappointing last time out over seven furlongs and drops back to 1300M here and may do better as a result. UNDERBOSS makes his debut today, but has had the benefit of three barrier trials. Any betting support for him should be respected. DULCERO is a 3yr old filly who returns from a 35 weeks break. She has only had the two runs to date and did show some improvement second time out. She has had two barrier trials and if not too green in running, she should be considered here.

Race 6
ZOUOLOGIST has recorded three solid efforts over seven furlongs and despite dropping down to six furlongs here, he should be right up there in the firing line. CRIMLET is a 3yr old filly taking on boys, but she starts from gate seven and was only 0.7L behind the victor last time out over this distance. BRUNETTA is a 4yr old filly who returns from a 22-week rest, but has had the two barrier trials. She missed out on her hat-trick last time out over 1300m before taking her break and may be able to get back to winning ways here. TITUS finished a creditable third last time out over six furlongs and could threaten the top three selections.

Race 7
TRAJECTION and WHISPERED renew their rivalry today. The latter did finish 0.2L behind the former in their last clash over the c&d, but is 1.5Kg better off at today’s weights and has a slightly better draw. That would normally be enough for the result to be reversed, but the top selection is still preferred as she appears to be more consistent. BENTLEY MAGIC won his latest outing over seven furlongs and is sure to keep the top two honest. DAME KIRI is a 4yr old filly who finished 2.4L behind the top pick in her last start, but is 2kg better off at the weights. That should bring the pair closer together.
