Race 4.

LE GAI SOLEIL missed out on her hat-trick last time out when finishing fourth over this c&d, 1.8L behind the winner, but did win her penultimate start over the sane c&d by sum three lengths. She returns from a 13 week rest, but has put in two encouraging barrier trials to prove her fitness. From gate six, she is taken to be the best bet on today’s card. RATHVILLY MISS jumped awkwardly before ending up in fourth place last time out over seven furlongs, just over two lengths behind the winner. She is drawn one inside the top choice and will have the services of ex-SA jockey Keagan Latham to aid her cause. ALMERHERI did finish a head in front of the latter in their last clash in the race mention above, but is 2kgs worse off at today’s weights and may struggle to confirm that result. She is also drawn wider out at gate eight, but she was returning from an 11 week rest that day, so should not be lightly dismissed.

Race 5.

A 6yr old mare and a 4yr old filly could fight out the finish to this race and complete the exacta, but the day’s value bet, SO WICKED, is preferred. She hit the front at the 250M mark before drawing away to put over three lengths between herself and the opposition last time out over 1900M. She will have to negotiate a wide draw eleven, but nevertheless she could be good enough to complete her double here. SATIN RAIN had her consistency rewarded with a one length victory last time out over 1900M. She went from jump to wire that day and from a far kinder draw six, she may prove difficult to reel in over the closing stages of the contest. WHITE BOOTS made good late progress to finish fifth in his last outing over ten furlongs, just under three lengths behind the winner. He will have 3kgs removed from his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice and although drawn in gate ten, he should be included in all bets.

Race 6.

BELLUCI BABE is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she has only had the three runs to date, winning two of them and finishing second in the other. She showed plenty of toe to win her last start over this trip by one and a half lengths. From her draw three, she looks to be the one to side with here. MALKOVICH is seldom far off the action, finishing a neck second last time out over 1100M. He is also a pacey sort who was only collared in the shadow of the post in that last outing. He is drawn the widest of them all in gate eleven, but he should use that early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy. INVINCIBLE GANGSTA followed up his penultimate run victory over five furlongs with a fifth place finish over the same distance next time out, one length back from the winner. He returns from an eight week absence and has his first run for his new trainer, but if fully settled into his new environment, he should be involved in the finish.

Race 7.

This looks to be a tricky race to end the Jackpot and some caution is advised. BIGBOYROY has his first run since a 15 week absence, but finished second in his only barrier trial. He ended up fifth in his last outing over a mile, but was only just over a length back in his penultimate run over this trip. He jumps from a wideish draw nine, but he should be right up there when they hit the line. ATLANTIC KING returns from a 20 week break and has won one of his two barrier trials. He was second last time out over six furlongs, one and a half lengths behind the victor, this despite not getting the clearest of passages in the straight. He is draw even wider out at eleven, but he could emerge as the biggest danger to the top choice. WILD CHAP tried to go from jump to wire before ending up in second place last time out over seven furlongs, one and a half lengths behind the winner. He has a kinder draw four and should give a good account of himself here. PROMOTIONS was denied a clear passage last time out when finishing seventh over six furlongs. He steps up in trip today, but he did win by a neck over this distance three runs back and should be included in all bets.
