Race 4

FOXBOROUGH is
a 4yr old filly taking on the boys. She showed good improvement when stepping
up to today’s distance last time out, finishing third, beaten by just a neck.
She jumps from a handy draw three and should give the males a good run for
their money. ATLANTIC KING on the other hand was slightly
disappointing when trying the extra ground. He finished nearly nine lengths
behind the winning over nine furlongs, but he did win over today’s trip three
runs back. He starts from gate five and should be right up there when they hit
the line. BERGEN had shown steady improvement in his last
three outings, culminating with a short-head victory last time out over seven
furlongs. He faces a wideish draw eight, but on the plus side, he will get 2kgs
removed from his back thanks to his claiming apprentice.

Race 5

SHAIK jumped
awkwardly and then raced three wide into the straight before finishing strongly
to end up in second place last time out over five furlongs, just a neck adrift
of the victor. The form of that race has been franked and she has a handy draw
two. She has his first run for her new trainer and if fully settled into her
new surroundings, she could prove difficult to topple here. As such, she is
taken to be the best bet on the program. MISS DIOR made good late
progress to win her last start over five furlongs by a head to complete her
hat-trick. All three of those victories were over the minimum trip, but the
manner in which she finished off that last effort would suggest that going the
extra ground today should not be an issue. From her gate seven, she could be
the immediate danger to the top choice.
TURNSTYLE is
seldom far off the action and finished fourth last time out over 1300M, just
under two and a half lengths back from the winner. She is a speedy sort who
tried to go from jump to wire that day and although drawn in gate ten, she is
likely to use that good early gate speed to move across without expending too
much energy.

Race 6

RABBIT CLAUSE returns
from a 17 week rest, but has had the benefit of two barrier trials, finishing
third in both of them. He won from the front last time out over 1300M, putting
nearly one and a half lengths between himself and the opposition. That has
proved to be a strong formline and from his draw five, he is made the value bet
on the day’s card. SUPER EFFORT has consistent form to
his name, finishing second in his last outing over seven furlongs, a head
behind the winner. He has his first run since a slightly shorter 16 week absence
and has also had two barrier trials, winning the latest. He jumps from gate two
and is expected to turn in another honest performance today. INVINCIBLE LAD has
finished second in his last three runs, the latest over five furlongs when a
half length adrift of the winner, but he did win his penultimate start over
this c&d by a neck and will be looking to go one better here, despite
having to negotiate gate eight.

Race 7

ULYSSES had
his consistency rewarded with a 1.3L win last time out over this c&d. He
hit the front at the 100M mark and then held off the late challengers over the
closing stages. He has drawn gate three and will have 2kgs removed from his
allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice to aid his cause. RAMMSTEIN followed
up his victory over six furlongs three runs back with two second place finishes,
a short-head back in his penultimate outing over this trip. He was only run out
of it very close to the wire that day and from his draw eleven he is likely to
adopt similar tactics today. STRAWB is a 5yr old mare
taking on males, but she showed marked improvement to finish second in her last
outing over this c&d, just over a length back from the winner, this despite
coming five wide into the straight. If she is able to repeat that effort, she
should be included in all bets.
