CAPTAIN DIZZY ran a good race when finishing second in his last start over this C&D. He showed good pace that day, but was caught in the latter stages. The son of Captain Of All is having his peak run this afternoon and should be cherry-ripe. Greg Cheyne retains the ride which is encouraging.
Race 4: FORGETFUL GIRL (4)
Jockey: V.Niekerk G – Trainer: Nel W
FORGETFUL GIRL’S last three starts have been good. She set the pace last time, but found one too good in the form of Chile Jam. The daughter of Master Of My Fate is a progressive type and in this type of field, she should take a power of beating.
Race 5: MAJOR ATTRACTION (4)
Jockey: Fourie R – Trainer: Snaith J
MAJOR ATTRACTION has finished third in her last two starts against slightly stronger. She was slow into stride last time, but finished her race off well. The daughter of Vercingetorix takes a slight drop in class today and with Richard Fourie back in the saddle, she can notch up her third career victory.
VALUE BET FOR TODAY
Race 6: BOLD DIVA (6)
Jockey: Behr G – Trainer: Crawford HW
BOLD DIVA is the value bet on today’s card. She finished 4.5 lengths behind JACQUELINE in the Listed Ardmore Jamaica Handicap last time. She is 5.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this C&D. On best form shown, she should get back to winning ways.
