Jockey: Fourie R – Trainer: Snaith J
DANILO DANILOVITCH is the best bet on the card. The son of What A Winter has produced two decent efforts thus far. He showed good pace last time, but had to switch at the 200m mark. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He does not meet the strongest field this afternoon and with Richard Fourie back in the saddle, he should take a power of beating.
Race 2: STARBOARD (1)
Jockey: V.Niekerk G – Trainer: Nel W A
STARBOARD has run three good races to date. She stepped up to the mile last time and stayed on strongly to finish second behind the well-related, Duplicity. The daughter of Twice Over jumps from a good draw once again and can get it right today.
Race 5: HIGH HOSANNA (4)
Jockey: Fourie R – Trainer: Snaith J
HIGH HOSANNA is a filly taking on the males, but she was ultra-impressive when winning on debut over this C&D. She was slow into stride, but the manner in which she finished off her race caught the eye. The daughter of Trippi does meet stronger today, but she could be anything and should remain unbeaten.
Race 10: SILVER HOST (7)
Jockey: Fourie R – Trainer: Snaith J
SILVER HOST is one of the better bets on the card. He won a good race in the Grade 3 Okapi Chairman’s Cup last time. The manner in which he drew off in the latter stages suggests he will not have any issues with the 2800m. The son of Silvano has a good draw once again and should notch up his fifth career victory.
VALUE BET FOR TODAY
Race 4: SNOW REPORT (5)
Jockey: De Melo K – Trainer: Bass-Robinson
SNOW REPORT from the Candice Bass-Robinson stable is the value bet on the programme. He showed good guts and determination when winning his last start over this C&D. He set the pace that day and found more where it matters most. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He is likely to have his own way in front once again and may be hard to peg back.
