TOP BET
Race 1: FOURS A CROWD(4)
Jockey: Donovan DILLON – Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

With nearly half this field of juveniles being unraced the betting market will be a good indicator but the raced runners could have the edge. The Ramsden yard saddles FOURS A CROWD who tired late after showing pace on her fair c & d debut earlier this month. She attracted longshot betting support that day, indicating that she has shown the yard fair work and the bay filly should make heaps of progress here.

Race 2:MADE IN HOLLYWOOD(4)
Jockey: Donovan DILLON – Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

The filly MADE IN HOLLYWOOD expectedly thrashed her maiden field over an extra furlong second time out and she seems to have a bright future. Of course, she takes on considerably stronger male rivals now but should make tons of progress and is certainly worth following.

Race 3: GADGET MAN(2)
Jockey: Grant BEHR – Trainer: Dean KANNEMYER

GADGET MAN
once again proved that the mile is beyond him at this stage of his career. However, he tired late in a really competitive affair, the formline of which could be worth following. The inmate from the Kannemeyer yard had solid credentials up to seven furlongs and he can quickly make amends from the best draw. The 3rd placed finisher of that last start Tiger Warrior boosted the form with an easy subsequent win.

Race 4: PIRACY(4)

Jockey: Richard FOURIE – Trainer: Geoff WOODRUFF

There are quite a few form contenders in this highly competitive nine furlong event which should yield a close finish. The pace should be decent and the often fast-finishing PIRACY will revel in that. The son of Oracy has caught the eye in all four of his career attempts over shorter to date and he seems to be ‘crying’ out for this extra ground. It could pay to follow the progress of Gadget Man in the prior contest as this bay gelding finished just in front of that rival from a poor draw last time out. Top jockey Richard Fourie keeps faith with trainer Woodruff’s charge.
VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 8: I LIVED(1)

Jockey: Donovan DILLON – Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

The smart three-year old I LIVED had an eye-catching last run when trying the mile in her first venture around the turn and she appears to have a bright future. She stayed on for 4th behind FLASH FIRE after setting the pace and is now 1.5kgs better off with her conqueror. The top weighted three year old should enjoy this slightly shorter distance and she can defy the odds. Her good draw is an obvious plus and she has plenty more to offer.
