Race 1: ELITE JET(2)
Jockey: Grant V/NIEKERK – Trainer: Mike BASS

The collateral form points to ELITE JET from the Mike Bass yard. The son of Jet Master is a speedy type that is lightly raced and produced his career best performance in yielding conditions over this c & d, last time out. He was outrun late into second that day and he, in turn finished one length in front of today’s rival, SURREY. The gelding should continue to improve and he merits healthy respect in this field.

Jockey: Grant BEHR – Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER

BANDIDO CABALLERO is lightly raced and thus far he has been ultra-consistent. The son of Elusive Quality handled the mile well when he stayed on for second in a competitive contest behind his stable- mate last time out. He faces slightly weaker opposition today and should take some beating.

Jockey: Grant V/NIEKERK – Trainer: Mike BASS

SHINGWEDZI has improved nicely with each outing. She finished strongly for a close second over seven furlongs on this course last time, despite having to switch at a crucial stage. The daughter of Trippi made good late progress over a mile in her penultimate outing and she certainly seems above-average. She should love every bit of today’s trip and she will take a power of beating on this summer course.

Race 9: SEA CAT(14)
Jockey: MJ BYLEVELD – Trainer: Paul REEVES

This is another exciting contest and the three-year old SEA CAT gets the opportunity to show exactly how good she is. She has trained on nicely as a three-year old and acquitted herself extremely well in back-to-back features recently, despite being drawn shockingly. The daughter of Var was close-up in both those starts and she now has her third run after the break. She takes on plenty of hard-knocking older rivals but she is lightly weighted and she should be very competitive.

Race 5: CALL OF THE HUNT(10) (Each Way)
Jockey: Juan-Paul v.d.MERWE – Trainer: Glen KOTZEN

CALL OF THE HUNT could represent the value in this contest with her lightweight of just 52kgs. The Glen Kotzen inmate took a little while to shed her maiden tag but that form has worked out very well. She then stepped up in class but acquitted herself extremely well when staying on for a close 4th behind GOING MY OWN WAY on her handicap debut over this c & d, four weeks ago. The half-sister to former July winner, Hunting Tower raced wide throughout that last effort and she could be a totally different proposition today. She meets her conqueror on 1.5kgs better terms and still has more scope for improvement.
