CAPTAIN’S RANSOM was ultra-impressive when winning her seasonal debut in the Grade 3 Diana Stakes. The classy daughter of Captain Al has won three times and finished second once from as many starts on this course. She will strip a much fitter horse this afternoon and should notch up her eighth career victory.

DESERT MIRACLE has been super-impressive in her last three victories under jockey Gavin Lerena. She took on the males in the Grade 3 Graham Beck Stakes last time and won with a ton in hand. The daughter of Dynasty has a lot of class about her and it will take a very special horse to beat her. She has her first run on this course and if suited to the left-hand turn, she should be too good for this field.
Race 7: RAINBOW BRIDGE (1)
Jockey: R Fourie – Trainer: AE Sands
RAINBOW BRIDGE is much better than his last start in the Grade 1 Vodacom Durban July. He returns from a 22-week break which would have done him the world of good. He has won twice, finished second twice and third three times from eight starts over this C&D. It is encouraging that Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle as he is unbeaten on the 7yo gelding from four starts. If not in need of this outing, he should be the one to beat.

RIO QUERARI was a tad disappointing in the Grade 1 Mercury Sprint at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. He returns from an 18-week break, which may have done him the world of good. He has won three times, finished second four times and third once from as many starts on this course. The classy son of Querari gets the services of regular pilot Grant van Niekerk and he should take a power of beating.

His last victory came on this course and with Gavin Lerena in the saddle, he should notch up his third career victory.
