Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: I’M IN LOVE (12)
Jockey: Fourie R – Trainer: Snaith J

I’M IN LOVE showed good improvement to finish second over this C&D behind Forries Forever. She was slow into stride, but the manner in which she finished off her race was encouraging. The daughter of William Longsword is a progressive type and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, she can go one better.

Race 4: MASTER REDOUTE (11)
Jockey: Marcus A – Trainer: Odendaal M

MASTER REDOUTE was in need of his debut effort over this distance at Durbanville. He took on winners, raced green but stayed on nicely at the finish. The son of Querari would have come on a lot from his first outing and if not too green on his course debut, he should go close to winning.

Race 6: KASIMIR (1)
Jockey: Fourie R – Trainer: Snaith J

KASIMIR should have finished closer in the Grade 1 Mercury Sprint last time as he hung in the latter stages. He has won three times, finished second three times and third once from nine starts over this C&D. The 7yo gelding takes a drop in class and should be too good for this field.

Race 10: CHANSONETTE (8)
Jockey: V.Niekerk G – Trainer: Nel W

CHANSONETTE followed up her debut victory with a decent third-place finish over 1200m on this course. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she will enjoy the extra furlong on offer. She takes on older rivals this afternoon, but looks to have ability and should be up to the task at hand.

Race 1: SILENT TRIGGER (14)
Jockey: Domeyer A – Trainer: Bass-Robinson

SILENT TRIGGER caught the eye on debut over 1000m on this course. He was green in running, but the manner in which he finished off his race was impressive. The son of Twice Over would have gained from the experience and will love the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he may be the one to beat.
