Magic Tips Best Bets

Top Bet
Race 3: HERNANDO’S PROMISE(4)
Jockey: MJ BYLEVELD – Trainer: Vaughan MARSHALL

HERNANDO’S PROMISE
has had many chances but he relished the rise in ground when producing a smart last effort over this c & d recently, despite his jockey having to avoid a runner that came down earlier on in the event. The Marshall inmate could still have a decent future over ground and he can build on that last outing.

Race 5: RED LIGHT GIRL(7)
Jockey: Richard FOURIE – Trainer: Justin SNAITH

RED LIGHT GIRL
faded tamely in the Fillies Guineas recently but the speedy daughter of Captain Al may be best at sprinting and she can bounce back to form in handicap company today. The Snaith inmate had promising prior form up to seven furlongs and she is still improving. Interestingly, many of today’s older rivals that she meets prefer an extra furlong to be at their best and the bay filly can capitalize on this.

Race 7: CARBON OFFSET(3)
Jockey: Richard FOURIE – Trainer: Brett CRAWFORD

CARBON OFFSET
‘s formline is indicative of the fact that he is improving. He reversed the form of his penultimate run when beating the hard-knocking older campaigner Gyre over this c & d last time and is still on the up. The Brett Crawford inmate was handed a four-pound penalty for his troubles but he may again be ahead of the handicapper and can follow up despite the slight rise in class.

Race 8: VERDIER(1)
Jockey: Richard FOURIE – Trainer: Adam MARCUS

VERDIER
is improving with each run and he gets the nod in this competitive final event. The Var colt again ran on smartly when a close 2nd over this c & d three weeks ago and he now has his peak showing. He finished a head in front of the next placed runner Gimme One Night (runs in race 3) that day and it could pay to follow the latter’s progress today. This inmate from the Adam Marcus yard could enjoy being equipped with blinkers for the first time and he has heaps of improvement to come.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 6: DON’T STOP DANCING(4)
Jockey: Donovan DILLON – Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

DON’T STOP DANCING
has been below-par in her recent efforts over the mile and her conditioner reverts the well-related daughter of Dynasty to sprinting today. Of course, she began her career with much promise when beating dual subsequent winner Rock On Wood comfortably on debut over this c & d in the autumn and she can get back to form at this level. The three-year-old filly is steadily dropping in the ratings.
