Winning Form Best Bets

Race 1: MISS MALBEC(3)
Race 2: MOUNT KEITH(11)
Race 3: VARUMBA(3)
Race 4: SHOW STEALER(3)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Top Bet
Race 2: OH BEHAVE(12)
Jockey: Richard FOURIE – Trainer: Paul REEVES

OH BEHAVE is the full-brother to multiple Grade 1 placed six-time winner Trophy Wife and he posted a high-class debut effort over this c & d, five weeks ago. That formline has worked out extremely well, with his conqueror Table Bay and runner-up Dark Force winning subsequently. That effort would have brought the son of Tiger Ridge on appreciably and he will be a huge contender in this big field. There are some other useful types though and they will contribute to an exciting finish.

Race 3: VARUMBA(3)
Jockey: MJ BYLEVELD – Trainer: Vaughan MARSHALL

VARUMBA bounced right back to her best form when she was equipped with blinkers over this c & d in yielding conditions, last time out. The speedy bay filly only just managed to hold on for the victory but the runner-up Chevauchee boosted that form greatly by winning a subsequent listed sprint. This daughter of Var has been well placed in this conditions plate and she can take full advantage of being the best-weighted entrant.

Race 5: FLYING RYAN(1)
Jockey: Richard FOURIE – Trainer: Glen PULLER

FLYING RYAN is regaining his good form and the best barrier position tilts the scales in favour of the son of Horse Chestnut who finished a close 3rd over seven furlongs in his most recent start. The mile suits him even better and he can reverse the Shall Be Free formline with GYRE.

Race 7: DARK CHOCOLATE(7)

Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER – Trainer: Willem A NEL

There are some decent three-year-olds on display in this fillies and mares handicap and they could feature prominently in the finish. DARK CHOCOLATE has a solid c & d record and she proved to be equal- ly effective without blinkers, as the daughter of Black Minnaloushe posted a smart handicap debut run last month. She ran on well for 2nd on that occasion and clearly escaped without a penalty. The bay filly should continue to progress and she has claims from her handy draw. She is the yard’s only entrant on this card.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 9: MEGA SECRET(7)
Jockey: Robert KHATHI – Trainer: Paddy KRUYER

MEGA SECRET was becoming costly to follow but he showed exactly what he is capable of when cruising to his maiden victory over this c & d, three weeks ago. He rises in class on his handicap debut but is still lowly rated and has more improvement to come. The son of Jay Peg has finally cracked a good draw and he can follow-up.
