Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: CAPTAIN REI(3)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER – Trainer: Stan ELLEY

There are plenty of speedsters in this contest and they could easily harm each other’s chances.CAPTAIN REI has had plenty of opportunities but he has shown some useful form to date and could profit most from a likely blistering pace. The son of Captain Al has been close-up behind today’s likely favourite MUSKETS ‘N ROSES in his last two c & d outings and can reverse the form here.

Jockey: Karl NEISIUS – Trainer: Mike BASS

This is an interesting contest and appears a boat-race on paper between MOUNTAIN MASTER and WARCRAFT. Both runners have shown promise to date and the former made a good comeback run when he stayed on for 2nd over seven furlongs on this course, two weeks ago, despite racing with a slipped saddle. He made late headway when beaten just over four lengths in his penultimate outing over a mile and should strip much fitter today. The son of Jet Master should love the step-up in trip and should make plenty more improvement.

Race 6: ASHTON PARK(3)
Jockey: Karl NEISIUS – Trainer:  Mike BASS

ASHTON PARK is at his best over this c & d and his very good record proves that. Still, he didn’t disgrace himself when beaten just under two lengths by his stable companion LAURIE’S GOLD over a mile last time out. He meets his conqueror on 1.5kgs better terms but more importantly will love this slight drop in trip. He gets Neisius up to negotiate his awkward draw and he should give a very good account of himself.

Jockey: Andrew FORTUNE – Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

COMBATTIMENTO has always been held in high regard and until his last outing, he was extremely frustra- ting. He clearly relished the ground as he finished strongly for a close second behind a smart up and coming stayer over this c & d, last time out. He finished comfortably ahead of the third placed runner MASTER CHI and seems to have found his forte’. He is now 2.5kgs worse off with the latter but staying could be his game and he should have plenty more to offer.

Race 9: HOUSE OF LORRAINE(2) (Each Way)
Jockey: Glen HATT – Trainer: Brett CRAWFORD

This is a competitive contest and the formline behind Good Girl Flies could be the one to follow. HOUSE OF LORRAINE and DINESEN are both lightly raced sorts that represent the above formline and the former gets the narrow first verdict. She has raced just three times and produced a highly promising debut before being reportedly not striding out in her disappointing next start. However, she put that behind her when she moved up nicely before staying on for a close third over this c & d behind Good Girl Flies, three weeks ago. She was a neck behind DINESEN on that occasion and has definite scope for more improvement.
