BRIGHTON
Race 2 No4 TURN BACK TIME (Nap)
Trainer: Mark Johnston – Jockey: Franny Norton
It’s a long way from Middleham to Brighton, but TURN BACK TIME can make it more than worthwhile. The Time Test filly has placed on both starts against decent winners, and can have too many guns for Unexpected Arrival.
Race 3 No2 BIG BOY BOBBY
Trainer: Roger Charlton – Jockey: Oisin Murphy
First time cheek pieces can help propel BIG BOY BOBBY to a first career win. He was still a bit raw when going down in a driving finish with Silver Gunn at Nottingham, a run that’s there to be improved on.
REDCAR
Race 2 No10 SIXCOR (Each Way)
Trainer: Linda Perratt – Jockey: Graham Lee
SIXCOR has a midfield draw from which his jockey has options on the sprint track, and may well elect to come down the middle. The selection was an 80-1 shot when second at Ayr on his third run for this trainer. He should now be fully primed to open his account.
Race 3 No6 BLOWING WIND
Trainer: Michael Dods – Jockey: Connor Beasley
Long-standing maiden BLOWING WIND will get few better opportunities to put one on the board. He’s competed in a Listed race and in handicaps, and should know too much for his inexperienced foes.
Race 4 No4 GIVE IT SOME TEDDY (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Duran Fentiman
Five times course winner GIVE IT SOME TEDDY took out a Class3 at Thirsk on Sunday and is in the mood to do us another nice favour. Back in a Class4 and under a 4lb penalty he can prevent Sweet Believer from completing a hat-trick and is very much one to follow at this time of the summer. His trainer can do little wrong with his handicappers.
YARMOUTH
Race 2 No8 PNEUMATIC (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa
Churchill colt PNEUMATIC will improve for this first race but can get involved at likely chunky odds. He’s shown promise in his work, though enthusiasm is tempered by the fact that his stable is going through a very quiet spell.
Race 6 No6 CASTANA DIA (Nap)
Trainer: Chris Wall – Jockey: Sebastian Woods
CASTANA DIA looked to score with something up her sleeve over course and distance a fortnight ago. She landed some good bets in the process, and at the same level can give her mainly older opponents short shrift. Her trainer has excelled with other sprinters from her family, and has almost certainly left something to work with.
SANDOWN PARK
Race 4 No3 MASHHOOR (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Jim Crowley
As one of the least exposed in the field, MASHHOOR can make this a second success of the season in colours that are winning in all corners right now. The son of Kingman made a solid start to handicapping when third behind Data Protection at Newmarket, and though costing his followers that day, can now show the losses were merely lent.
Race 5 No13 BAGATELLE (Each Way)
Trainer: Mark Usher – Jockey: Liam Jones
There’s not much on paper to recommend BAGATELLE, but the hooded filly did show a bit more at Lingfield last time. She’s capable of stepping up, and could reward each way support as a roughie that goes unsupported.
DONCASTER
Race 1 No8 SAAHEQ (Each Way)
Trainer: Alanda Perrett – Jockey: Hector Crouch
SAAHEQ had to switch around rivals and looked unfortunate not to finish closer than fourth behind Street Parade at Sandown. He was then scratched from the Stewards Cup consolation race owing to unsuitable ground, but should be back in his comfort zone on these quicker conditions and remaining at five furlongs.
Race 4 No3 DALANIJUJO (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Charles Bishop
DALANIJUJO has been unlucky in handicaps on either side of a heavy defeat in Listed company and is of considerable interest with conditions in her favour. She endured a nightmare passage and finished best of all in a Class 2 at Royal Ascot and after being out of her depth at Pontefract got going all too late when third to Declared Interest at Newbury. In a race where a good pace is on the cards, she can arrive late on the scene.
