MARKET RASEN

Race 3 No1 CHILLI FILLI (Nap)
Trainer: Henry Daly – Jockey: Richard Patrick

CHILLI FILLI took out the corresponding race 12 months ago, and with her excellent record when returning from a break is strongly fancied to go back-to-back on the way to a bountiful campaign in mares’ chases.

Race 6 No3 MACHO MOVER
Trainer: Olly Murphy – Jockey: David England

Since joining his trainer from Ireland, MACHO MOVER has taken on a new lease of life, scoring by a wide margin at Newbury before being denied by just a neck in a tight finish with Canastero at Stratford. The six-year-old remains dangerous from his mark, and looks the one to beat.

SEDGEFIELD

Race 1 No1 A DIFFERENT KIND (Nap)
Trainer: Donald McCain Jnr – Jockey: Brian Hughes

If A DIFFERENT KIND takes to hurdling in the way he did to bumpers he will complete a fine hat-trick in an interest opener. His successes at this track in the autumn were gained by an aggregate of 25 lengths, making him yet another exciting prospect from his buoyant stable.

Race 5 No8 LANTY SLEA
Trainer: Nicky Richards – Jockey: Danny McMenamin

After a point and bumper wins, Bold Endeavour is likely to start favourite on his hurdles debut, but he may find it hard to repel LANTY SLEA. The selection showed progression in three outings in novice and maiden company, only to fall when travelling smoothly at Hexham. He’s done well through the summer, and is well regarded by his trainer.

TAUNTON

Race 4 No3 DATA PROTECTION
Trainer: Willie Muir – Jockey: Brendan Powell

Jumps debutant DATA PROTECTION brings a good record from the Flat to the table, having won a Class2 handicap at Newmarket in the summer. He was affected by a breathing problem after that, but judging by his good Newbury effort to trouble the judge after a wind op he is going to prove dangerous if proving adept at jumping hurdles.

Race 5 No2 EBONY GALE
Trainer: Philip Hobbs – Jockey: Tom ao’Brien

EBONY GALE will handle the forecast quicker ground that has decimated field sizes at this fixture. He’s opposed by only two rivals, but is the most likely to produce his best, granted that market rival No Anxiety broke a blood vessel at Hereford on Tuesday.

Race 6 No6 SEE THE EAGLE FLY (Nap)
Trainer: Christian Williams – Jockey: Jack Tudor

SEE THE EAGLE FLY is an interesting betting proposition on debut for her trainer. The Free Eagle filly ran a number of sound races last season, and appeals as a well-weighted candidate for this mares’ handicap hurdle given that a change of scenery could have benefited her.

CHELMSFORD CITY

Race 2 No5 PETAL POWER
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa

PETAL POWER finished in the ruck in a better race at Kempton last time, but can raise her game on a first visit to Chelmsford. She’d taken home a cheque in each of her four previous outings, and a similar outcome is in the offing with De Sousa back in the irons.

Race 5 No5 LIVERPOOL KNIGHT (Nap)
Trainer: Alan King – Jockey: Martin Harley

LIVERPOOL KNIGHT raised his game to run out a worthy winner of a similar race at Wolverhampton last week. He looked good value for the success and can defy a 6lb penalty.
